MINUTES - Council - 19911009~ •• J" MINUTES TOWN OF AURORA COUNCIL MEETING NO. 46-91 Boardroom York Region Board of Education Administrative Offices Wednesday, October 9, 1991 8:00 p.m. COUNCIL MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE Mayor West in the Chair; Councillors Jones, Mcintyre, McKenzie, Ochalski, Pedersen and Weller. Councillor Timpson was absent on Town business. Councillor Stewart was absent due to illness. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST There were no disclosures of interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, 1983. APPROVAL OF AGENDA #589. Moved by Councillor Weller Seconded by Councillor Mcintyre THAT the content of the Agenda be approved as outlined herein, with the addition thereto of the letter from Coscan Development Corporation to the Unfinished Business Section of the Agenda for consideration along with Report Number PW91-101-348, and with the addition of Report Number PW91-102-350, and the letter from The Poultry Company to the New Business section of the Agenda. CARRIED DELEGATIONS Mr. Robert N. Singer, The Priestly Holding Corporation re: North Bayview Residential Neighbourhood Draft Secondary Plan Mr. Robert Singer indicated that his client, the Priestly Holding Corporation, had some initial concerns with the Draft Secondary Plan; however, after further discussion with Staff, Mr. Singer indicated that his client supports the modifications to the Plan and he requested Council provide its approval of the Plan. Mr. Gary W. Templeton, Templeton -Lepek Limited re: Proposed Official Plan Amendment No. 61 Mr. Templeton contacted Staff prior to the meeting to withdraw his request for delegation status. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor Mcintyre THAT Aurora High School be notified that Council intends to make the Town of Aurora Awards available for the 18th Annual Commencement of Aurora High School. CARRIED c) Ministry of Municipal Affairs re: Land Use Planning for Housing Policy Statement #593. Moved by Councillor McKenzie Seconded by Councillor Ochalski THAT the correspondence be received as information. CARRIED STAFF REPORTS PL91-109-346 -Application for Exemption from Part Lot Control, Coscan Develogment Coreoration, Block 186, Re~istered Plan 65M-28 5, Sandf1eld Drive/Covent Crescent Dl -PLC-02-91 #594. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor Weller THAT Council approve the application for exemption to Part Lot Control as requested by Coscan Development Corporation; and THAT the implementing Part Lot Control By-law be given three readings; and THAT prior to the issuance of second stage building permits, the app 1 i cant's surveyor sha 11 certify that the proposed dwe 11 i ngs on the lots comply with the building and siting specifications of the by-law . CARRIED QUESTIONS BY MEMBERS Councillor Weller Enquired whether the Director of Lei sure Services had addressed problems with providing sufficient ice arena time for Aurora residents and requested the Director to return this issue to Council's attention if it arises in the future. NEW BUSINESS The Poultry Company re: Closing down of Maple Leaf Food Inc. plant in Aurora #605. Moved by Councillor Mckenzie Seconded by Ochalski THAT the correspondence be received as information. CARRIED PW91-102-350 -St. Andrew's Golf and Country Club Pre-Servicing #606. Moved by Councillor Weller Seconded by Councillor Mcintyre THAT St. Andrew's Golf and Country Club be authroized to proceed with pre-servicing of water and sanitary sewage installation in accordance with the engineering drawing prepared by Marshall Macklin Monaghan as drawing no. 10-89038.
