concern re: typographical errors in industrial
land sale advertisements.
Councillor Buck expressed concern about the article in the newspaper which
reported that Council is seriously pursuing the idea of withholding building
permits in certain residential subdivisions. The effect of this proposed
action on the new homeowners and the occupancy delays which waul d result
were indicated.
The Chief Administrative Officer in explanation stated that the subdivision
agreement permitted this type of action to be taken by the Town when
infractions of the Building Code and subdivision agreement provisions were
not rectified. This mechanism would only be used in this situation where
the builder had not been cooperative in dealing with the deficiencies.
