Mr. J. Cummings, Solicitor, appeared before Council, representing Granada
Investments Limited. Mr. Cummings requested Council's consideration in the
postponement of levy payments for the 49 lots west of Murray Drive in the
proposed Granada Subdivision.
Resolved that Council approve of the containment of a clause in the
Subdivision Agreement that would allow the delayed payment for up to
one (1) year from date of registration of the Subdivision Agreement of
the individual service and lot levies in the amount of $2,895.00 per
unit for the 49 lots west of Murray Drive.
Be It Further Resolved that interest shall be payable on the amount of
levies so delayed calculated at the prime rates, Bank of Montreal,
Aurora, and should building permits be requested prior to the one (1)
year delayed payment such monies would be payable in full at that time.

The Committee respectfully submits the following:
A meeting of the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was held
Wednesday, October 22nd, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in the Administration Centre.
Present Were: Councillors Ostick and West, P. Bennett, P. Poulin and J. Mcintyre.
In the absence of the Chairman, Dr. Oliver, Paul Bennett served as Acting Chairman.
1. Core Study Report
Councillor Ostick reported that Council had referred L.A.C.A.C.'s
recommendations to it's Planning and Development Committee, which will meet
November 5th, 1980.
2. Report on Demolition Control By-Laws
Paul Bennett deferred presentation of his report until the next meeting.
3. Plaguing
Paul Bennett introduced Grant Newlands and Jack Brice who presented a sample of
a carved wooden plaque and reported on costs of plaques in bronze, aluminum,
granite and wood.

Patsy Poulin moved that L.A.C.A.C. proceed with it's plaquing program, that a
portion of L.A.C.A.C.'s 1980 budget be used and that each plaque cost no more
than $500.00. It also was moved that plaquing be considered as part of an
ongoing program and that a decision be made at the next L.A.C.A.C. meeting
regarding the placement of the first plaques.
This was seconded by John West and passed unanimously.
4. Report on Castle Doan
The Committee received a report on Castle Doan, 41 Yonge Street North.
5. Budget Report
Councillor Ostick reported on the status of L.A.C.A.C.'s 1980 budget.
It was agreed that budgeta~ proposals for 1981 be brought to the next meeting.
6. Property Maintenance By-Law
Copies of the Town of Aurora's property maintenance by-laws were distributed by
Councillor Ostick. It was suggested that L.A.C.A.C. members review these before
the next meeting in order to discuss how they may apply to the preservation of
heritage properties.
7. Correspondence
Correspondence was received.

and New Equipment
The Committee discussed this memo and would recommend that the Town of Aurora
join the User's Group regarding computer use at a yearly fee of $8,000.00.
Participation in this User's Group would eliminate anY further E.D.P. Costs.
The Committee would further recommend that the Town of Aurora lease a 510 model
computer at a monthly cost of $1,400.00.
2. Letter# 19-45 -C.A. Allen memo to K.B. Roder re: Invitational Tender No. IT
1980-2 Servicin of Four 4 Industrial Lots within the Town Industrial Park
Council in Committee would recommend that the tender of Peter Scott Contracting
Limited for servicing of Industrial lots within the Town Industrial Park be
accepted. Tender price to be $25,499.50.
3. Letter # 19-60 -H. Borgdorff memo to K.B. Rodger re: Sanitary Trunk Sewer,
Kennedy to Wellington Streets, Town of Aurora, Project Number 849
The Committee recommends that this letter be received.
4. Letter# 19-54 -Aurora Public Library re: Paving of the Library Parking Lot
Council in Committee recommends that this matter be deferred until 1981 Budget
discussions.
5. Letter # 19-69 -John Peddle, Elderberry Drive re: Permission to Place a
Temporary Trailer on Lot 24 on Elderberry Drive
Council in Committee recommends that permission be granted to John Peddle to
park a construction trailer on his property during house construction for a
period of one year from this date upon the posting of a $500.00 bond.
6. Letter # 19-113 -K. Dittmar, 1 Banbury Court re: Objection to By-Law #
2375-80
The Committee recommends that this letter be received and notices be mailed to
everyone within 400 feet of proposed parking lot advising when Public Meeting i
to be held.
7. Aurora Minor Hockey re: Souvenir Year Book
The Committee recommends that a full page (inside front cover) ad in the Aurora
Minor Hockey Souvenir Year Book at a cost of $500.00 be taken.
8. Reid and Associates Limited re: Design of Industry Street North Extension
Council in Committee discussed this matter and would recommend that Reid and
Associates be authorized to proceed with the design of the extension of Industr
Street North approximately 2,800 feet (853 metres).
9. Purchase of 20 Acres of Industrial Land
The Committee recommends that we purchase a 20 acres parcel of Industrial Land
from the Optioned Lands on Industry Street North as soon as funds are
available.

Limited
Upon receipt of a suitable Letter of Credit, Council would recommend that
sewage allocation be authorized for the Old Park Holdings industrial land of
approximately 25 acres.
And provided that a signed Agreement binding upon the owners, successors and
assigns is delivered to the Town stating that the Town of Aurora has the sole
authoritarian right to withdraw sewage allocation should:
(a) the development not proceed
(b) the Letter of Credit expire and not be renewed
(c) And that this Agreement be registered on Title.
11. Progress Report
Mayor Timpson advised Committee that a meeting with representatives of the
Canada Employment Program has been arranged for November 13, 1980 regarding a
grant for work to be done at Factory Theatre.
12. Press Conference
Mayor Timpson advised Committee members that a Press Conference has been called
for Monday, November 3rd, 1980 at 2:00 p.m.
