ON MONDAY JANUARY 5th. 1976 AT 8:35 P.M.
PRESENT WERE: Mayor E. Buck, Councillors, Davis, Jackson, Miller, Roth 1 Simmons, Stewart, Timpson and Williamson.
Councillor Stewart rose c~·a point of privile~ge and introduced guests from
Leksand Sweden. Mr. Oslun from Leksand presented their flag to Mr. Omar
Ehe\missa, Chairman of the Twinning Committee of Aurora.
Mr. Khamissa presented the flag to the Mayor for safe keeping and asked that
it be flown on June 6th. 1976 which is flag .day in Sweden.

Councillor Davis presented a report of the Planning and Develor~ent Committee
in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following:
. The Planning and .Development Committee held a meeting on Tuesday, December
~16th. 1975 at 7:30 p.m. The following were present: Councillor W. Davis,
Councillor G. Timpson, Councillor J. Williamson and Secretary to the
Building Inspector D. Middleton.
1. DELEGATIONS:
A. Orsi Property Pt. Lots 82 and 83 Cone. 1 E.Y.S.
The following appeared before the Committee: J. Dovaston (Process
Consultants) and Mrs. F. Orsi (Owner).
The School Site location was discussed and finalization will be subject
to meeting with Public and Separate School Board Trustees and Council
in Committee and Mr. F. Orsi in early January 1976. The parkland
dedication was also discussed.
2. LETTERS:

The Committee is not in favour of the proposal as presented. The density
is too high. To comply v1ith the surrounding areas and the present By--law
#1863 as amended, the lots should be 6000 -5000 sq. ft. The Subdivider
should be required to contribute to the cost of future Traffic,
Signals at the Yonge and Brookland intersection and also take into
account that Cash in Lieu of Parkland-Dedication would be required,
amount to be specified at a later date. A site plan agreement would
also be required.

AND~ the Chairman of the Regions'. Health and Social
Services Committee, namely Mayor Evelyn Buck has stated
emphatically that she is unwilling to consider said
building as the site.
AND WHEREAS the Mayor has publically encouraged a puivate
operator to open a private day care centre in Aurora.
AND WHEREAS the opening of said private centre is being
used as one rationale for closing the public facility.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Aurora ask
Regional Council to place the Vice-Chairman of the Health
and Social Services Committee in charge of the day care
study and that he assume responsibility for maintaining
liaison between staff, the Committee, and parents and for
scheduling of any meetings, etc. relating to this study."
