MINUTES - Council - 19750721MIND.TBS OF THE 12th. REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON MONDAY JULY 21st. 1975 AT 8:00 P.M. PRESENT WERE: Mayor E. Buck, Councillors: Davis, Jackson, Miller, Roth, Simmons, Timpson and Williamson. Timpson: Davis: "Resolved that we waive the agenda to hear Delegations." CARRIED Mr. Doug Hart representing the United Steel Workers of America presented a brief to Council to be.left for future consideration. Mr. Jongeneel presented a proposal of 5 lots on the North Side of the old Bloomington Sideroad. This was referred to the Planning and Development Committee for further study. Mr. Joe Gellany presented a proposal of 400 apartments and multiple family units on 11 acres of land on the east side of Yonge Street North. Davis: Williamson: "Resolved that this proposal be referred to the Planning and Development Committee for preliminary study and report." CARRIED Max Shurman representing Captain Developments, proposal for Gateway Plaza. This proposal was referred to the Planning and Development Committee and also the reaction of the area residents is to be obtained by Mr. Shurman, with regards to the proposed Public Meeting. Mr. Bill Hitch informed Council of the cut backs in se~ice which the Library Board had found necessary following the reduction allocated by the Council for the 1975 Library Board Budget. Mr. Hitch presented the revised 1975 Budget. ,., '-~---' .,., REGULAR MEETING DELEGATIONS CONT D - 2 - JULY 21st. 1975 Timpson: Roth: "Resolved that Mr. Winemaker, the legal representative of the citizens be allowed to speak -to Council as a Delegation." CARRIED Mr. Winemaker spoke to Council regarding his clients concern over the possible grading and drainage problems. Simmons: Roth: Williamson• Timpson: "Resolved that a meeting of Council in Committee, the Town Engineer and Wimpey Office engineers and the persons concerned be convened for flonday July 28th, 1975 if possible." CARRIED "Resolved that the Building Inspector investigate and if the building and grading plans do not conform to the Subdivision Agreement, that the Building Inspector place a stop work order on any lot which is in non-conformity. House CARRIED "Resolved that, provided the Hillary House is plaqued as a National Historic Site, and provided that the fence be reconstructed by others, at no cost to the Town of Aurora, that the Town of Aurora does ·hereby', agree to lower the concrete retaining wall and handt.ail as suggested in J.
