Councillor Davis presented a report of the Planning and Development
Committee in which the Committee respectfully submitted the

A meeting of the Planning and Development Committee was held on
February 26. 1975 at 7:30p.m., with the following presentt

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Farrow appeared before the Committee to
discuss the decision of the Land Division Committee.
Following discussion of1he four reasons for refusing the
application, the owners decided, as the new Official Plan is
now being processed and the extension of McDonald Drive will
sever their property, they will not, at this time, appeal the
decision. ·

After discussing this proposal with the Committee. four
important points were brought forth:
1. The rear portion is located in Developmen• Area #2 of the
new Official Plan.
2. The exact location of the extension of McDonald Drive
is to be determined.
3. The intersection of Horning Cr., and McDonald Dr., is
to be determined.
4. The possibility of trading lands with th~ United Churc~
to facilitate the construction of Hurray Drive -:
extension must be pursued. '
The Committee recommends Council study the foregoing
information.

Hr. J.A.J. Knox presented a brief summary of the present
status of this Estate Lot Subdivision. He lett a letter
of suggestions to be taken into consideration when we
draft a Subdivision Agreement. It is recommended these

The Committee wishes to advise the Members of Council that this
By-Law, which is somewhat out of date, will be amended ov repealed
by a new By-law which will be presented to Council at a fu~~9·

Item #2: Referred from Works Committee
The Committee recommends that all fire hydrants in the Town of
Aurora be painted as follows:
-if supplied by a water main of smaller than 6" diameter, that
the hydrants be painted with Garlock yellow paint, which does nat
fade.
-if supplied by a water main of 8" or greater in diameter, that ·
the hydrant be painted similarly, with a green bonnet to ·
distinguish them.

AND WHEREAS it is desireable for Council to
establish goals and priorities in the hous~g
field in the face of such pressures; ~
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council
initiate a study of the housing question .

terms of reference for such a study be set'by
