The Committee interviewed 5 applicants and would recommend that Mrs. P. Ferguson, be hired at a salar,y of $9,000.00 per annum. The Committee would inform Council members that 3 of the applicants request a minimum srlary of $8,000.00 and 2 of the applicants '/ requested a salary of $9,000.00. This is for Council's information. Allen, Architect, presented a proposal consisting of a Site ··Plan, elevations, perspective and floor plans for a Mall at the north-· ..rest corner of Orchard Heights and Yonge Street, having 200,000sq. ft. gross floor area, to be called "Northern Lights Centre". ""·-/ The site is presently designated Commercial on the Aurora Official Plan and Zoned "D" Development on Zoning By-la•r #1863. The principals will be appearing as a delegation at Council on August 19,1974. Council in Committee was unanimous in recommending the lands be re-zoned accompanied by a Site .. Plan Agreement, to accommodate this proposal. Item #2. The Committee discussed the Parks and Recreation Report #53, and would concur that Mrs. P. Ferguson be hired as Recreation Co-ordinator at an annual Salary of $9,000.00, with the usual 6 months probationary period subject to revising By-law #1959-72. Item #3 The Committee recommends the following be approved by Council: . 1. That a tender call be authorized for the construction of the servicing in the new Industrial Park. ....... 2. That the Engineer be authorized to have the utilities moved on Gurnett Street to prepare for the reconstruction of this street from Cousins Drive to Church Street, and also the Tender call. Item #4. A letter from J. Rettie, Chief Administrative Officer, Region of York, was received as information re the "Planning Information Caravan". CARRIED Works Committee Report #55 Councillor Simmons presented a report of the Works Committee in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following: A meeting of the Works Committee was held on Friday, August 16th. Tender Demolition Tenders were opened for the demolition of the house on Wellington St. W. and Temperance Street. Clothing Quotations were discussed for clothing for the Parks and Works Employees. Councillor Stewart remarked that the Odd Fellows were celebrating their 100th. anniversary in the Town of Aurora this year, and as this · organization is one of the oldest in Town, the Town shoul.d reeognize it in some way. · · · · Williamson: "Resolved that the meeting be adjourned."
