REGULAR MEETING BEPORTS OF COMMITTEES - 7 - Councillor Stewart in the Chair Council in Committee Report t!99 DECEMBER 17th. 1973 A meeting of Council in Committee was held on ~onday December 10th. 1973 at 8:00 P.M. Members Present Were: Mayor Buck, Councillors Stewart, Timpson, Henderson, Trent and Williamson. 1. Ontario Housing Corporation -Sprine: .urn West proposed Subdivie::'J:!! Mr. Ken McGregor and Mr. David Strachan met with Council in Committet:l regarding their land holdings, and following discussion Council · in Committee would recommend that as many Councillors as possible look at an O.H.C. development in Scarborough ~~own as the Malvern Development. 2. Mr. R. Farguharson -Aurora Bus Agreement Mr. Farquharson and Mr. William Errington, Solicitor met with Council in Committee to discuss the existing routes and agreement conditions. Following discussion, Council in Committee would recommend that a meeting be held between the proper Committee of Council and the Bus Operator to attempt to revise the Bus Route Schedules and still meet to Council objectives of Subsidy Allocatio~ as requested by the Operator and his Solicitor. · 3. Increase in Connection Charges for Water and Sewage This matter was left until a future meeting of Council in Committc8 for discussion. 4. Aurora Draft Official Plan Council in Committee agreed to set up a series of meetings on Thursdays, commencing January 3Ed. 1974 until the Committee have completed their study of the content of the draft Official Plan. Following that study, it is understood that the Council's intention will be to make the Official Plan Document a Public Document open for viewing and following a short review period will be setting up public meetings with due notice at which time the content, purposes, aims, and objectives of the Official Plan wil.l be discussed. · 5. Hamilton Severance -Committee of Ad;iustment Council in Committee discussed this matter and our Solicitors opinion and would recommend that a 17' road allowance be obtained for the applicant parcel and also the small lot being created to the west by the subject application. Further Council discussed the matter of proper plannjng and the Building Inspector in consultation with the Area Services Braooh, Region Planning Department, . would recommend that 200' frontage be allocated to the parcel of land so created in proper planning for this parcel. 6. Santa Claus Parade Float Council in Committee wow!d authorize the expenditure for materials to build a new base for the float, the estimated cost of $250.00. ?. Report of the Building Inspector -re. Submission AS/73 stoee!4in Council in Committee discussed this matter and would recommend that the Building Inspectors report be accepted and that Council endorse the procedures being followed by the Building Inspector. a. 9. 10. on. Building Inspectors Report re Finalization o£ Vieero~ BuildiB5 in MCMahon Park Council in Committee considered the Building Inspectors letter and would recommend that the outstanding amount of $ 5,3?9.33 'be approved for payment with the amount of $4,841.41 being payable immediately and 10% being l:la ld back for 30 days. 1 Bub Council in Committee considered this matter further and would recommend that the proposed road aligDIIlent for the Orsi Subdivision be approved in principle and that approval in p:t>ineiple be given, that th·w excess lands and their proposed acceptability as part of the park land dedication be accepted in principle, subject to de- tailed negotiation at the time of ~ subdivtsion agreement being worked out. " C.ARRIED Parks and Recreation Committee Report #100 Councillor Trent presented a report of the Parks and Recreation Committee in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following: A meeting of the Aurora Parks & Recreation Committee took place on Tuesday, December 11, 1973 at 8:00P.M. in the Board Room of the Community Centre. PRESENT WERE: Councillors lfrent and Timpson; Members Dawson, Hodgkinson, Sorley, Caruso, Blick, Bailey, Heptinstall Harman and Recreation Co-Ordinator T. Anderson. 1. Victoria Hall -The Maintenance Sub-Ccmc:ttee reported to the Committee and the Committee recommends that new front doors be purchased for this hall and that Council look into the condition of this building. 2. Communit~ Centre -The Committee recommends that the items mentione in the Parks and Recreation Committee Minutes of December 11, 1973 be budgeted for in 1974. AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor issue a Proclamation for Boxing Day, December 26th. 1973." CARRIED "WHEREAS the Mundialization Committee of the Town of Aurora have had several meetings to discuss the municipality with which the Town of Aurora might mundializ;e, AND WHEREAS the said committee recommends that the Town of Aurora mundialize with the Village of Leksand, Sweden, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Town of Aurora ask the Chairman of the Village of Leksand if the people of Leksand would be willing to recognize the Town of Aurora, Ontario, as their official twin in the programme of mundialization, AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk- Admin:i.Etrator of the Town of Aurora write the necessar,y letter to the Chairman of the Village of Leksand, Sweden, in order to ascertain their feelings on this matter.
