Council in Committee Report #53
Mayor Buck presented a report of Council in Committee in which the
Committee respectfully submitted the following:
A meeting of Council in Committee was held on Monday, June 25th, 1973
in the Council Chambers at 6:45 p.m.
Members present: Mayor E. Buck.
Councillors: Davis, Henderson, Miller, Simmons, Stewart,
Timpson and Trent.
Item 1: Representatives from the York County Board of Education
Mr. G. Ford -Business Administrator.
Mr. Jolliffe, 11r. T. Johnston, ~lr. Norm !•!eller -Trustees
of the York County~oard of Education attended to discuss the
possible continuation of a lease arrangement for the Church
Street school. Following discussion of this matter the Committee
agreed, in principle, to a further one year extension subject
to a further· report on workino out a solution to the increased
cost of office accommodation.-
A further report will be issued on this matter.
Item 2: Aurora Minor Hockey Association.
Representatives of the Aurora Minor Hockey Association -Messrs:
Brooks, Russell, Smith, Mills attended to discuss the proposed
take-over of 9 and 10 year olds into the Aurora Minor Hockey
Association set-up.
Following discussion of this matter, Council in Committee would
recommend that the Recreation Co-ordinator advise on the
amount of useable equipment for this age grouping and the
condition of team sweaters before Council makes a final
decision or recommendation on this matter.
Item 3: Proposed Swimming Pool By-Law 1989-73:

Council in Committee reviewed the revised wording of By-law
1989 and as the By-Law is still in the Committee stages of
processing, agreed that it should be brought forward at
the next meeting of Council for third reading and for formal
consideration at that time.

Item 6: Floyd Corner property-8'10" walkway
Council in Committee would recommend that the Town Solicitor
prepare a formal offer to Mr. Corner to acquire the property
as a proposed walkway, the offer to be based on the appraisal
r~port.
