Aurora, Ontario agent for Gordon & Agnes Duckworth, Box 54 Aurora, Ontario,
for consent to a Conveyance re: part of lot 22 Concession 2, Town of Aurora,
as described in the subject application, the Committee of Adjustment, Town
of Aurora, has this day issued the following Decision.
DECISION: "THAT tentative approval is granted to this application and the
Committee of Adjustment, Town of Aurora, is prepared to issue a
final order consenting to the conveyance as set out in the
application, upon compliance with CONDITIONS OF CONSENT as
follows:"

Board, specifically excluding the subject property from the provisions
of the subjev~ By-law, becomes final and binding.
(3) THAT a strip of land 27 feet wide along the easterly boundry of the lot
to be conveyed by deeded to the Regional Municipality of York for future
road widening purposes, as requested in the letter dated August 28,
1972 from Mr. Denne Bosworth, Commissioner of Engineering, Regional
Municipality of York.
Reasons for the Decision:
(1) There were no objections either written or verbal to the granting
of the consent.
(2) The Committee feels that the application represents a logical disposition
of the subject land and, since the Town of Aurora is in the process of

Juncillor Miller presented a report of the Parks and Recreation Committee

Shade Tree Conference Invoice
The Committee recommends that the 1973 Membership to the Ontario Shade
Tree Council in the amount of $15.00 be paid.
Ontario Parks Association -1973 Education Conference -
The Aurora Parks & Recreation Committee recommends to Council that all
three members of the Parks Department attend this Conference to be!Jeld
on February 23 and 24th, 1973•

After considerable discussion, the Aurora Parks & Recreation Committee
recommend to Council that the tender of Vic Priestly be accepted at
the figure of $2,372.00 with the alterations as laid down in the report
forwarded to Council on January 11, 1973.
4, Ole Fashion Nite
Recreation Administrator E. Batson personally thanked B. Crump for the
use of the trucks and the work done by him in the picking up of
Christmas Trees. These trucks were supplied by Vic Priestly. Chairman
P. Miller also expressed the thanks of the Aurora Parksth& Recreation. Committee and recommended that letters be forwarded "to e ~ueens
York Rangers, the Boy Scouts and members of the Recreation Committee
for their assistance in putting on the Ole Fashion Nite,

quoted at $11,719,00;. the Viceroy buiiding (32 1 x 28 1 -896 sq. ft) v1as
priced at $13,313 complete.
Quotation were received from Model Builders and Joe Moffatt-Lynch on
the foundation for these buildings.
Model Builders' quotation on the Beaver Lumber building was l\12 1 450
and on the Viceroy Building was $11,650 these quotations included two
washrooms and a kitchen and finished walls'. Joe Moffatt-Lynch 1 s quotation
was $10 1 254 for the Beaver Building and $9,022 for the Viceroy building.
All quotations and illustrations are to be presented by Chairman P, Miller
at the next meeting of Council·.
In closing, Mr. Glass again reiterated the Lions' Club decision that the
building would come under the Town of Aurora and again asked for 'a ·
prompt decision on the entire matter by Council,
6. Swimming Pool
It was recommended by the C~mmittee that Council write a letter to the
York County Board of Education enquiring as to whether or not the Board
of Education was interested in the erection of an indoor swimming pool
with the Town and the Board dividing the costs•

pertaining to the passing of the by-laws by
the regional Council of York on the 28th day
of December 1972 1
AND WHEREAS; the Council feels that these
circumstances should be reconsidered by the
1973 Regional Council as the Town is not desirous
of incurring legal costs to itself or to the
Region in persuing the matter in the Courts to
attempt to quash the by-law unless deemed
necessary.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ESOLVED THAT:
The Town Solicitor write to the Region of York
requesting, that they reconsider the above
mentioned by-laws ruid'citing the question of
legality and reasons of question which v10uld
be part of the consideration in an action of
quashing a by-law, if such an action were
instigated.

Councillor Evelyn Buck gave notice of motion re a public
meeting to discuss the proposal of constructing \Vellington
Street vlest from Victoria St. to the former west limits of
the Town.
Councillor Evelyn Buck gave notice of motion re: request
Council to study the possibility of an Area Engineering
Service being provided.-
Councillor ilalt Davis gave notice of motion re a report on
lighting of all skating rinks and all hockey rinks.
Councillor Timpson gave notice of motion re a Public Safety
investigation into the operation of snowmobiles within
the Town of Aurora.
