in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following:
A meeting of the Planning and Development Committee was held on Tuesday, Octobe:·
3rd. 1972 at 8:00 p.m.
Present were: Councillors Harris, Henderson and Trent.

1. Bentley Subdivision-T-22012:
The Committee met with Mr. Bentley to discuss his proposed subdivision on Ridge
Road. The Committee previously recommended in Report No. 187, and approved by
Council on May 1st, 1972, that no action be taken on theproposal until Amendmen·c
No. 1 to the Whitchurch Official Plan was processed.
The Committee has requested Mr. Bentley to submit the necessary copies of his
draft plan, alternative number 2, and any pertinent information to·: the Area Serv'.
Branch in order that a study may be carried out and a technical report prepared
for Council's consideration.
2. Lambert -Commercial Development:
Mr, Lambert has submitted plans to the Building Inspector for a building permit
to erect a two-storey co~mercial building on his Yonge Street Sou~property.
The building will have stores on the first floor and offices above,

Parks & Recreation Committee. Report #239
Councillor·Miller presented a report of the Parks & Recreation Committee in
which the Committee respectfully submitted the following:
The Committee met on October 10~, 1972.
Present were: Vice Chairman Councillor Miller, Councillor Trent, Mrs, B. Sorley,
Mrs. M, Dawson, F, Caruso, Wm. Crump, Mr. E. Batson and Mr. B,
Blair, President of the Minor Ho.ckey Assoc. and Mr, Bob Blick,
The following matters were dis.cussed:
1, Aurora Minor Hockey Association
The Committee asked Mr. Blair to explain an account for Minor Hockey in the amount
of $308.05. After considerable discussion it was agreed that the amount of
$308,05 would be paid but the Committee stressed that in future the policy of
the Parks and Recreation Committee is that the Committee is responsible for ice
time and goalie equipment.
2. Hockey Booklet
The Committee was informed that there are available instructional hockey booklets
at a cost of 10 cents each and that they come in packages of 6, The Committee
instructed Mr. Batson to order 300 booklets which will be sold throughout hockey
at no cost to the Town of Aurora.
3. Scott Air Pak
The Committee was informed that the Department of Labour has requested that a new
Scott Air Pak be purchased for the Community Centre as the old one is obsolete,
The Committee therefore recommends that 1 Scott Air Pak be purchased at a cost
of approximately $296.00.

Council.lin Committee Report #240
Councillor Davis presented a repo~t of Council in Committee in which the Committee
respectfully submitted the following:
A meeting of the Council in Committee was. held on Wednesday, October 11~, 1972
at 8:00 P.H.
Present were: Councillors -Davis; Harris; Henderson; Miller; Simmons; Stewart;
Trent and Williamsdnl
1. Woodoor Limited:
The Committee met with Mr. Campbell of Woocioor Ltd. to discuss a proposed addition
to their industrial building on Indhstry Street, North •.
The Committee recommends that the Clerk-Administrator and the Building Inspector
meet with Mr. Campbell to discuss further some suggestions made at the meeting.
2. O.M.E.R.S.-Pen&ion for Councillors:
Members of Council present at the meeting in further consideration of the offer
to include Councillors under the O,M.E.R.s .• Pension Plan,. discussed this matter
and the consensus of opinion would not recommend the joining of the plan by the
Town of Aurora Council, and would recommend that Council take no action.
3. Ashton Dene Subdivision:
Wimpey Homes Ltd. will be applying to the Committee of Adjustment for a minor
variance for one of their houses· 'on Oak Court wherein the garage does not meet
n
the minimum requirement of four feet ;(rom the side lot line. The Committee recommends
that the Council not object to the applic;o>;tion, and further that the stop work
order be lifted as it pertains to the house but that no further work be done
on the garage portion of lot 35 until after the Committee of Adjustment hearing.
4. Council in Committee were made aware that a formal letter from the Ontario
Hydro would be brought to Council's attention on Monday night, October 16~,
regarding a request by the Soland"b'Commission that Ontario Hydro and the
mu!licipalities affected be asked to study the Effects of a possible routing to be
located on the west side of 404 and that the concerns be brought to the .Solandt
Commission's attention for their consideration,
5. Pollution Control Centre Plapt Employees
The Clerk advised that a meeting had been held between himself and Mr. Robert
Hodgson of the Region of York regarding the assumption of the Employees of the

Pollution Control Plant and that effective midnight October 12~, 1972, the Town
will cease all operation of the plant and the employees shall become Regional
Employees effective October 13~, 1972, The employees were to be given letters
of employment by the Region of Y0 rk and taken on with all normal Region benefits
and conditions of employment,
6, 1972 Staff Salaries:
Council in Committee considered in detail, all 1972 Staff Salaries and would
recommend adoption of the attached report,
7, Employee Grievance:
The Committee would recommend that the Clerk-Administrator reply to this grievance
on Classification,
8, Council Remuneration By-Law:
The Committee would recommend that the wording be effected in an amendment to the
By-Law approved by Council that up to two meetings per year may be missed due
to annual vacation with no deduction from the per diem rate referred to in By-law
#1906.
