"Resolved that a copy of the Engineer's report dated July 2, 1970
and attached photographs be forwarded to the N:i.nister of High~rays
and that the Department of Highways be requested to ban studded
tires and to provide additional grants to municipalities who have
suffered road damage due to studded tires.
'Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded
to all municipalities in York County requesting their endorsement."

Buck: "Resolved that a letter be sent from this Council to the Prime Minister
Davis: of Ontario pointing out the long term difficulties caused by re-assess-
ment to market value and requesting that the decision of the Honourable
D'Arcy McKeough, Minister of Municipal Affairs, on the concept of
market value assessment be reconsidered."

Reeve Buck presented a report of the Council in Committee who respectfully

COUNCIL IN COMMITTEE REPORT NO. 219 CONT 1 D
A meeting of the Council in Committee was held on Tuesday, September 8, 1970 at
7:40 P.M. Present were Reeve Buck, Deputy Reeve Trent, Councillors Davis,
Harris, Miller and Simmons.
1. Report No. 212 -Clause 3
The Committee recommens that Clause 3 of Council in Committee Report No. 212 be
approved.
2. Report No. 210
The Committee recommends that the insurance premium for the Town Signs be paid.
3. Aurora Saycees
The Committee recommends that the Aurora Jaycees be granted permission to use
the Town's July 1st. Crest, however the Committee can not suppor~ the request
by the Jaycees to sponsor the cost of crests and jackets, as it would set a
precedent for every other organization to request financial support from the
Town.
4. Drug Seminar for Police Departments
The Committee recommends that P. c. Ted McClenny and P. C. D. Lougheed be
authorized to attend the drug seminar at Aylmer, however, only one officer is
to attend each seminar in accordance with Town policy.

Deputy Reeve Trent presented a report of-, the Works ColllJilittee in which the
Committee respectfully submitted the following:

A meeting will be set to interview these applicants, and a further report will
be submitted.
