Mayor Illingworth advised the Council of the death of Dr. Boulding who
served the Town as Mayor from 1933 to 1938.

Mayer Illingworth presented a report of the Committee of the Whole in which
the Connnittee respectfully submitted the following:
A meeting of the Council in Connnittee was held on Monday, December 29, 1969
at 8:00 P.M. All members of Council were present.
1. Snow Plow Gate -The Committee recommends that the Town SUperintendent, one
of the Works nepartment 1 s drivers, and any member of Council wishing to, be
authorized to visit the City of Kitchener 1 s snow ploughl.ng equipment and the
snow gate supplied by Newmarket Supply Co.
2. Postal Delivery to New Areas -The Committee wishes to advise that
residential postal delivery to the Wimpey Subdivision began on December 29/69 •

5. Swimming Pool -The Coinrilittee recmnnii!.nds that a joint meeting with J.
D. Reid and the Recreation Committee be convened for January 22, 1970 to
discuss the necessaty repairs to the swittnning pool.
6. Police Cell Tenders -J. D. Reid w:t11 have the tender specifications for
the new police cells available shortiy and the Committee recommends that
the Engineer be authorized to proceed with the tender call as soon as the
speci~ications are ready.
7. Janitor Service for Police Station -Three tenders were received as
follows for the supply of janitor service for the Police offices:
Barton's Building Maintenance
Aurora Janitor Service
All Around Building Maintenance
$120.00 per month
$195.00 per month
$240.00 per month
The CP!Ilmittee recommends the acceptance of the Tender of Barton's Building
Maintenance for an indefinite period with a thirty day termination clause.
The CP!Ilmittee also recommends that Barton's be requested to provide janitor
service for Victoria Hall on an hourly rate basis of $6.00 per hour.
8. Snow Ploughing of Parking Lots -No tenders were received for the snow
ploughing of Town Parking lots. The Committee therefore recommends that the
Town Superintendent be authorized to rent additional equipment as required
for snow ploughing and removal.
9. Volunteer Firemen -Home Alarm -The Cottnnittee was advised that the
Aurora.Hydro'Electric Commission will install a fire alarm buzzer in the home
of L. Foster on Ross Street at a possible cost of $200.00.
The Committee recommends that the Hydro-Electric Commission be authorized
to install the ·fire alarm buzzer in the home of L. Foster and any other
volunteer fireman's homes as required.
10. Collection of D.D.T. -The Cottnnittee recommends that the York-Oshawa
and District Health Unit be advised that the Town will co-operate as requested
in the collection of D.D.T.
11. Tyler Street Creek Property -The Committee recommends that the lands
registered to Fleury Bissell Ltd. be investigated as to assessment and assessed.
12. Billing's Well Property-The Committee recommends that the Council in
CP!Ilmittee meet with Mr. Merkur at a mutually agreeable date to discuss the
use of the Billing's Well Property. ·

have the rinks checked during the times that hockey is forbidden and enforce
this policy.

apartment agreements and was advised that the Clerk is waiting
for additional information.
Mayor Illingworth requested that the Police Committee study and
make recommendations on the problems of children playing hockey
at prohibited times and vandalism to public property in the parks.
Henderson:
"Resolved that the Provincial Assessment Department be requested
to check into the possibility of assessing the Aurora Highlands
Golf Club for business tax.11
