By-Law #1827 Buck: "That the By-Law now before the Council be read a third time Simmons: this day and that Rule 22 of By-Law No. 1468 be suspended for that purpose." REGULAR MEETING -6-FEB. 3, 1969 CONSIDE!RATION OF BUSINESS OF WHICH NOTid.E HAS BEEN GIVEN Reeve Buck in the Chair. 11 Caucusn Trent: Illingworth: "Whereas the A,urdra Council in their wisdom have ruled that the representatives of the Press are allowed to attend Committ~.e Meetings for the A11rora Council; 'And Whereas i tlnay be ne.cessary from time to time for the elected members of the Aurora Council to meet to discuss matters which it. may not be • expedient to discuss in public or for the purpose of ~aving embarrassment to individuals, as when a choice has to be made from among a number of persons in making an appointment or discussing personnel; 'Therefore be it resolved that an amendment to the Procedural By-Law #1468 be preparedto include the sub-heading "Caucus"and that the explanation as set out in paragraph #2 of this Resolution be used as an explanation of the meaning and purpose of a Caucus Meeting." Davis: "Resolved that a Committee be set up to look into the possibility of covering our Swimming Pool and erecting a "Y" type centre for Aurora and further that this Council recommend that the York County School Board look into the possibility of incli.lding an indoor type S>vimming pool for the proposed New High School on Wellington Street West." Buck: CARRIED Liquor Lounge License Stewart: Buck: "Wher~as the Notice of Motion was given at the January 20th. meeting of Council requesting clarification of Liquor Control Board requirements for Lounge License 'And Whereas we have checked with the Registrar's Office of the Liquor Licence Board of Ontario and have been advised that Lounge or Cocktail Bar Licenses are issued only to Hotels; this is an announced policy of some Davis: Miller: years and still applies. To be considered a Hotel and to qualifY, a building must have 10 or more roams up to a 10,000 population. 'Therefore Be It Resolved that this matter is clarified and the enquiring persons should be advised." CARRIED NOTICE OF MOTION AND NEW BUSINESS Good Roads Trent: Convention Davis: "Whereas Members of the Aurora Council have been invited to attend the Ontario Good Roads Association meeting at the Royal York Hotel; 'And Whereas Members of the Aurora Council may be desirous of attending the said meeting; 'Therefore be it resolved that those members of Council wishing to attend the said meeting be allowed to do so. And that the sum of $10.00 per day, plus 14¢ per mile be granted to each member who attends and that the Town supply the room, and that the Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto."
