Don Glass of the Aurora Hydro Commission, and Mr. Richardson of Oak-Hart Manufacturing informed Council that they have run into problems on the original proposed Hydro Sub-Station site. The property owner to the north feels that the original proposal will devalue his industrial property. Mr. Richardson proposed a possible solution by extending the site north 15 feet into Mr. Cook's property. Mr. Richardson stated that theywanted Council to specify its intent for the road allowance. ILLINGWORTH: "Resolved that we accept the delegation's sub- DAVIS W: mission and that the Town Solicitor be authorized to prepare the necessary agreement; that the road allowance be dedicated and that the necessary by-law be prepared." CARRIED Del-Zotto Homes Mr. John Nielson acted as spokesman for the delegation. His clients, Del-Zotto Homes, have acquired the property on Wellington Street West and propose .. to build a development similar to what was proposed by Mr. Priola. They would like to subdivide the land into four parcels with. a dedicated road in the centre off Wellington. Apartments would be on the front two parcels and Town Houses on the rear parcels. TRENT: Unit Precast Limited CARRIED A letter from Unit Precast (Toronto) Limited in answer to Councils' request re: trucks driving through Regency Acres Subdivision. MILLER: "Resolved that the letter be received and filed." BUCK: CARRIED T, McPherson A letter from T. McPherson tendering his resignation as Resignation Solicitor for the Town of Aurora. ILLINGWORTH: "Resolved that we accept the resignation of Mr. T. MILLER: McPherson with sincere regrets, as of December 31, 1968 or sooner, if arrangements can be made (agree- able to both parties) by the Finance Committee, I.G.A. Plaza and that a letter be s ·:1t to Mr. McPherson expressing our appreciation for the service he has given. 11 CARRIED A letter from J.D. Reid re: new I.G.A. Plaza servicing requirements and that Marchland Holdings Limited are agreeable to sharing the cost of the proposed storm sewer outlet on Machell Avenue. CARRIED Reeve Murray stated that the water service must be cement-lined. DELEGATION Dr. Henderson introduced the members of his delegation and presented their new plan for a proposed subdivision north of Kennedy Street Wes·c There would be 24 lots having a minimum frontage of 75 feet and a depth of 125 feet. The houses would have a minimum living area of 1500 square feet. There are eight property owners involved in the proposed plan of subdivision. REGULAR MEETING -6-JUNE 17, 1968, p_ouncil in Committee Cent 'd The Council in Committee met on Monday, June 17th, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. \-Ti th the Town Solicitor to discuss the flooding claims. As a result of this discussion the Committee recommends that the Town assume responsibility for the flooding damages in the Glass Drive area. DAVIS C: "Resolved that the Town of Aurora assumes responsi- bility for the flooding damages in the Glass Drive area. " CARRIED ILLINGWORTH: "Resolved that a letter be sent to Mr. Beardall advising him of Councils' action regarding the flooding claims." DAVIS C: MILLER: DAVIS W: CARRIED "Resolved that the Clerk vrrite to the City of North Bay requesting information on a reserve fund in place of insurance." CARRIED Jvlayor Davis in the Chair. Reeve Murray stated that water restrictions are now in force and thac the Water Committee is \vai ting for a report after the new pump is installed and they will revimv the restrictions at that time. Planning Committee Deputy Reeve Williamson presented a report of the Planning Committee in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following: The Planning Committee met at 8:00 P.Jvl., Wednesday, June 5th, 1968, to discuss several items with the following present; Deputy Reeve J. Williamson, Reeve J. Murray, Councillor W. Davis and the Building Inspector A. Jubb. ·1. It is recommended that Lot #11 on Industry Street be taken over for back taxes. The Building Inspector has a client interested in locating on this lot and although the services iifOUld have to be ex'cended to tl·:lis lot, the sale price would more than loolc after the cost of this. 2. (a) Proposed Subdivision -Aurora Orchards, File T-19136 owned by Wimpey Construction Co. Ltd. The questionnaire from the Department of Municipal Affairs which had been forwarded to this Council on May 31, 1968 by the Planning Board, for completion, W:l.s in turn referred to this Committee by the Council on June 3rd. for a report and recommendations. (b) Planning Board considered this Plan before it was submitted to the Department of Municipal Affairs and approved it in principle. We recommend that Council now approve it, but should ensure when the subdivision agreement is drawn up tha' the walkways be at least partly paved if not all paved. j (VJe further recommend that an amendment to By-Law 1 0)1 be prepared to allo>v the side yard setting requested by Wimpey Homes Limited, and the minimum lot area be reduced to 6 5 000 sq, ft. and )0 foot minimum frontage at the building line.) 3. The Committee. recommends that Wellington Street East be widened on the South Side from Dr. Devin's House to the west side of Victoria Street, and one the North side from Keffers Barber Shop to a point directly across from the VJest side of Victoria Street, such widening tobe in line with the present wide part of vJellington Street East (and furthe'r ·that a maximum parking limit of 15' minutes is recommended and that a by-law be prepared for this parking restriction). Parks Committee Councillor Illingworth presented a report of the Parks Committee in which the Committee respectfully submitted the following: The Parks Committee met at 7:15P.M., June 17, 1968. Councillor Illingworth and Trent in attendance. The Golf Professional of the Aurora Highland Golf Club in conjunction with the Canadian Golf Profession Association have offered to hold a Golf Clinic for the school children of Aurora on June 25, 1968. The only suitable location to hold the clinic is Fleury Park. It is therefore recommended that Mr. Bruce Butterworth of the Aurora Hyland Golf Club be authorized to hold the clinic as requested. ILLINGWORTH: 'Moved that the Parks Report, dated June 17, 1968 be TRENT: accepted." CARRIED Property Committee Councillor Corbett presented a verbal report on the tenders for the additions to the Fire Ball and Victoria Hall.
