REEVE MURRAY IN THE CHAIR :JOVNCIL IN COMMITTEE }!ayor Davis presented a report of the Council in Committee in which the Committee respectfully submit the following: 1. LAMBERT PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT Lambert and his architeqt met with the Committee to discuss the changes in the revised site plan drawings. The revised drawings corrected a mathematical error in t' original drawings. The Committee recommends that application be processed for approval of the site plan by-law. 2. RAI~WAY PETITION The Committee recommends that the Chamber of Commerce be requested to undertake the distribution of the petition. 3. ORSI DEVELOPMENT Mr. Orsi's architect presented some more detailed drawings on their apartrr.ont proposal on Yonge Street, NQrth. The Committee recommends that the road allowance at the east end of the property be connected up to Spruce Street, and that the Engineer present his report on road patterns in that area prior to approval of any site plan. 4. GARBAGE COLLECTION Mr. Stackhouse and Mr. McCaffrey met with the Council in Committee todiscuss garbage collection services during weeks with Monday Holidays. The Committee recommends that York Sanitation advise the Town what procedure will be followed when · 1 the . Monday in ~.week is a holiday. It is further recommended that the area normally picked NP on ~frulday be picked up first on Tuesdays, and that the Tuesday area be picked up next, with any Tuesday not peing picked up then, being collected on Wednesday; (i. PARKING LOT AT REAR OF MUNICIPAL BUILDING The Committee could not reach an agreement on whether or not to limit parking in the Parking Lot at the rear of municipal building. The Mayor declared that the Council minutes stated by-law number 1786-68 was to be presented ( and having been circulated to Council on April 19th.1968) it should be brought before the Council at the next meeting for consideration. PARKS COMMI~ Councillor Illingworth presented a report of the Parks Committee in which the Committee respectfully submit the following: Yours Parks Committee is very concerned about the vandaiism in the Town Parks, A partial list of damaged equipment is as follows: gEGENCY ACRES Merry go round , swings, playground equipment box, baseball backstops. TOWN PARK -Merry go round, 2 sets bleachers, washrooms door torn off, washrooms in vo::,,· poor condition, bandshell boards pulled off rear of stage. FLEURY PARK -Monkey bars, teeter totter. In addition broken. bottles present a real proba.em in all parks. Also the bark has been stripped off some of the new trees in the Regency Acres Park. During the last two months it is estimated that $2,000.00 has been wasted due to vandalism, including parts and labour. Your Cd>mmittee recommends that the Police Department be advised to maintain a strict look-out for vandalism and also that, if necessary a ~~law be prepared that parents or quardians will be responsible for damage caused, and that parents and school boards be be encouraged to promote good citizenship among the young people.
