REGULA.B TREE REMOVAL DELEGATIONS - 4 - NOVEMBER 20, 1967 A letter from M. D. Bosley of Paul Bunyan Tree Removal Services, Heston, requesting to be notified of any tenders for tree removal under our Hinter lllorks Program. BUCK: MILLER: "Resolved that this letter be referred to the \rJorks Cornm.ittee." CARRIED Mr. Almond, 85 Child Drive, appeared as a Delegation. He presented a report to Council that he had received from the Ontario Hater Resources Commission concerning labratory tests on a sa~ple of water that he sent to them. ILLI!IGJ.IORTH: MILLER: "Resolved that a Consulting Engineer specializing in ;rater 9roblems be contacted to find out what can be done to treat the water. Mr. McGregor, To;m Superintendent reported the Ontario lfater Resources Commission are making elaborate tests on the water supply at this time and that a report from them will be submitted four weeks from now. four weeks. Harris, 23 Mark St. appeared as a delegation to protest t'le proposed apartments on the east side of Yonge St. just north of Mark St. He presented a petition sil'ned by the residents on Mark St. ano. three on Yon~>;e St. He proposed that the Service Clubs and the Holland Valley Conservation Authoritv purchase this property for use as a park. Councillor Illingworth gave ~Totice of Motion to bring in a resolution to hold a joint meeting with the Planning Boaro. at a later date. ILLINGviORTH : BUCK: "Resolved that a letter be sent to Mr. Harris that this matter has been referred to the Planning Board and that he «ill be notified when the report will be submitted to the Council." CARRIED ·~._,..; 2 lst • REGULAR - 5 - NOVEMBER 20, 1967 REPORTS OF COMMITTEES POLICE COMHITTEE Councillor Trent presented a report of the Police Committee in ,;hich the Committee res:pectfully submit the follm·Tinf!;: 1. AUXILIARY POLICE OFFICER: The Cowmittee concur with the Chief that we do not utilize the Services of the Ontario Provincial Auxiliary Officer, as offered by Councillor Miller. The Chief suggested that the Auxiliary Officer should put in his time at the O.P.P.: Oa..l< Ridges. 2. P.I\Hl\HJG TAGS: The Chief mentioned that his Department was getting low in their stock of Parking tickets. The Committee referred to an earlier report, dated Feb. 6, 1967 Subject Traffic Tickets as sho;m in 3rd. Rer;ular Council .Minutes dated Februarv 6, 1967. OVEHNIGRT PARKING BAN -\HNTH:R l!ON'l'HS: The Chief asked r·or o.~rec-c~on as -co wne-cher the Council wanted the By-law implemented that restricts parking on streets overnight during the h'inter Months. The Committee recommends that the By--law be implemented, also that the To,;n Superintendent have signs made and placed at the four entrances to the Tmm warning motorists of the By-law. 4. PlL'lKI.NG RESTHICTIO.NS ON FOREJIT CRES: The Committee req_uested a report from Chief Langman as to Parking Restrictions on Foreht Cres. The following recommendations are made. I\fo Parking on one Side No Parking on the 'ilest Side of the East Leg. No Parking on the East Side of the \.~rest Leg. That a By-Law be rre,,ared to include the aforementioned as Amende<l .• The Committee concur with the above reconmendations. REGULAR SERVICES COMMITTEE FIRE C m"TIVJITTEE -6 -NOVE!,1BER 20, 1967 Councillor Miller presented a report of the Services Committee in which the Cow.mittee respectfully submit the folloving: The Services Corrnnittee met on Saturday Nov. 18, 1967 at 10.00 A.M. All members were present. Subjects discussed '"ere: l. GARBJ!:9!, COLLECTIO)IT: Complaints from Commercial Businesses. It was d8cided that no action would be taken unless com1)laints >rere received from a delegation or in letter form. 2. LITTER BASKETS: A letter frol'l the Tmm of Richmond Hill was read regarding their experience 1 s with litter ba~·kets The only point the;r maiJ.<e Was that they had. to be emptied 2 to 3 times a ;reek, but other than that '"ere acce1)table. A further letter was read which has been circulated from a company which places litter boxes in strategic areas in a Tovm at no cost to the Tm·m whatsoever. However they are used for ao.vertising pu:rnoser-, and in this way are self supportin~. The Committ2e recognizes that the Borough of_ North York recently sio:ned an agreement 1<i th this Company. The Commitittee recoffil'lends that a letter from Council be sent to this Company so· that a meetinr; may be arran<>;ed with their repres-entatives with a vie1-r of -permi ttinp; their i~"'"ast-· receptacle to be located in the Tmm of Aur~)ra. 3.
