CARRIED A letter from J.D. Reid re driveways in Gol~ Glen Subdivision. TRENT: WILLIAMSON: "Resolved that letters be sent tot he parties complaining explainin~ why Council is unable to take any action." CARRIED. A letter from the Aurora Public School Board requesting Council to giver further consideration to their applica- tion for debentures for a Se~ior Public School. A meeting of Council in Committee will be held to consider in detail the report of the York County Public School Consultative Committee. Rlill!MB PATRICK IN THE CHAIR COMMUNITY CENTRE EMPLOYEE The Community Centre Board met on Thursday, Nov. 3,1966 at 7.00 p.m. The Board agreed that it is necessary to have an employee of the Community Centre present durin~ installation of the ice-making equipment. The Board recommend that D. Patrick be hired effective November 1,1966 at an hourly ~ate of $2.10 DA:.JIS: SIMMONS: "Resolved that the report of the Co-ntiy Centre Board, dated Nov. :t:,l9(.l. re hiring of an employee for Community Centre be accepted, and the Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto." ILLINGWORTH: WILLIAMSON: "Resolved that the report of the Police Committee re cab driver's licencse for M. Lewis, be accepted." CARRIED It was reported that a meeting is being arranged between the Aurora Planning Committee, Aurora Planning Board and Whitchurch Planning Board Councillor Trent presented a report of the Works Committee: Tenders were received fro the removal of the diseased tress from the follimring: Richmond Hill Tree Service and Foresty Ltd. \>/eller Tree Experts Canada Tree Experts Robert Draper Tree Experts $5,177. 6,530. 8,265. 5,738 The Committee recommend that the tender of Richmond Hill Tree Service be accepted for the removal of trees as anticipated in the 1966 budget estimates. TRENT: MURRAY: "Resolved that the report of the Works Committee, dated Nov. 7,1966, re tree removal be accepted and the Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto." CARRIED. RENTAL OF VEHICLES & DRIVERS RE SNO\{ REMOVAL AMENDMENT - 3 - November 7,1966 The question of furth~r sidewalk repairs was raised, and it was reported that the Finance Committee had been unable to find any unallocated funds and there is no m<>re money for. '\i(le purpose in the Works Budget. " It was reported that one reflective vest had been purchased for each ~Torks employee at an approximate cost of $2.00 each. The subject of the Agreement with King Township re Kennedy St. West was raised. It was reported that the Public School Board have commenced charging King Township residents for education contrary to the Agreement. A meeting with King Township Council and the Public School Board will be held to discuss the agreement. A report was Eequested on the status of the By-law re Irwin Ave. The Police Committee have not yet been able to hold a meeting on this by-law. The report of the Department of Health on air pollution by industry in Aurora was referred to. ILLING\-IORTH: "Resolved that this re 'port be referred to the PATRICK: Planning Committee. forstudy and report." CARRIED. Reference was made to a sewer problem at 94 Harrison Ave. This problem was first raised in 1964 but corrective action has not yet been taken. PATRICK: ILLING\-IORTH: "Resolved that the matter be referred to the Works Committee and the Engineer for study and report. CARRIED. The subject of rentea vehicles and drivers for snow removal and sanding was raised. TRENT: "Resolved that the Town Superintendent be authorized to WILLIAMSON: tender for drivers and vehicles for snow removal and sanding, the lowest or any tender not necessarily to be accepted. After discussion, the following amendment was offered. RE BOYSCOUTS NEVI BUSINESS OUTDOOR RINK TO BE PLACED m1 THE OLD ARENA SITE LIST FOR COUNCILLORS RE UNFINISHED BUSINESS The question of the lumber belonging to the Boys scouts at the Works Yard was raised. It 1vas ·reported that the lumber had been given by· the Scouts to someone else and it is now being removed. MURRAY: WILLIAMSON: ?Resolved that Council proceed to the next order of business." CARRIED It was reported that ~x. Lambert had agreed to permit an outdoor rink to be placed on the old Arena site. Council was reminded that each Councillor used to receive a list of unfinished business. DAVIS: WILLIA-MSON: "REsolved that a system be established to categori•9 unfinished business and a list be given to each Councillor. CARRIED. CORBETT: "Resolved that Council revert to unfinished bueimess. ILLINGWORTH: DEFEATED WILLIAMSON: "Resolved that the meeting be adjourned." SIMMONS: CARRIED. The meeting then adjourned.
