RESOLUTION
Whereas Aurora and District High School Board has applied
to the Councils of the Town of Aurora , the Township of King
and the Township of Whitchurch having jurisdiction in
Aurora High School District to raise the sum of $75,000.00
for the purspose of paying o for permanent improvements to
the Dr. G.W, Williams Secondary Shhool, located on part of
lot 184, Plan 246 , on Dunning Avenue , in the Town of
Aurora.
BE _ IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF AURORA
1. That the said application to raise the sum of
$750,000,00 being is hereby approved.
2. That this Council does hereby request the Council of the
County of York to raise the sum of $7~000,00
being the entire sum required for the said purpose by
the. issue of its debentures.
3. That the TOWN OF AURORA shall be responsible for
its portion of equalized assessment as provided by the
Secondary Schools and Board of Education Act.

Mr. A.H. LeHasuir":i.er and Mr. G.P. Branch of the Provincial Department
or Economics and Development explained Regional Development in
answer to Council's invitation.
There are 10 ;regional areas in Ontario and only one (Halton,Peel,
Ontario, York, has not" formed a Regiona]. Development Association.
The Other nine areas are functioning with a full time staff and
General Hanager and Assistant.
It is a voluntary economic organizatios non-political with grants to
each qounty of $15 ,ooo, ""Any Municipality may join or leave•" at anytillle.

Mayor Davis presented a report of Council in Committee in
which the Committee respectfully submit the following:
Council in Committee met on Tuesday, October 12,1965 and
discussed several items resulti~in the following:
1. That approval be given to institute an appropriate-progra~
for the removal of diseased dutch elm trees.
2. That the Parks Committee arrange a meeting with the 1967
Centennial Committee to further the points raised in a letter
read from Mr. D.Richardson, Chairman of the Centennial Committee.
3. That a By-law be prepared prohibiting loitering in the Tmm
of Aurora.
4. That the Town Engineers' report concerning the construction
of a new intersection at Wellington and Yonge Strreets including
new traffic lights and controller be accepted and the necessary
by-law be presented to Council. on Monday, October 18,1965.

meeting held on September 20,1965, to_ obtain specifications
and costs of a fire pumper.
The Committee has now finalized the required specifications
(attached hereto) and'is'no>r prepared to write the various
fire appar:lltus companies inviting them to submit tenders
according to the detailed specifications.

This report is a result of the coriinuation of a Special
Com.T.ittee set up to work >rith the recreation and minor hockey
group t1wards providing facilities in the 'l'own O:i'4lilroi'a
Parks this coming winter -1965-1966.
·The. Financial position of the Recreation Committee was
indicated as sufficient until the new budget in Janaury
1966. The Minor Hockey representative said they had some
money but their.' rinancial position was not favourable .
