appreciation of the Town Band concert for the patients.

From Boyd Tnansport Limited asking support of their application for a
Class "A" license to and fron Metro Toronto and Class "C" privileges
south of North Bay. Mr. Walker, president, spoke and stated there
is no local transport of this type serving Aurora and the Boyd

"Be it resolved that the Council of the Town of Aurora hereby
adds its support to an application by Boyd Tranport Limited
of Aurora for a class "A" License to provide Aurora with a
daily transport service to and from Metroplitan Toronto
and in addition this Council approves of Class C
privileges being granted."

From Canadian Mitchell Associates consulting engineers for Golf Glen
Terraces Subdivision, requesting an End of Maintenance Acceptance
for the underground services and the curbs and base coat of asphalt
on Brookland Drive from Yonge Street to north limit of > Lot 9
be accepted for perfornance.

From Councillor A.J. Child expressing his appreciation for Council
members co-operation during his terms of office and the possibility
of returning in 1967. Councillor Child extended his thanks to
Bill Johnson and his Staff and Alf Jubb for their assistance.

i'iNfiiiAL REPORT
Piro Chief H. Jones thanked Council for their consideration while
he was in 'l>ho hospital and ~osDntod his annual report on fire
matters. The Chief asked that the Municipal Volunteer Fire
Department Code be adopted, that a combination aerial•pumper trucl
be purchased, that the trucks be equipped with two-~ay radios,
that full time firemen behired and week end duty men beypaid in
the summer.
Mayor Davis complim~nted Chief Jones on the efficiency of his
Department and an excellant report.

Cownci1lor Willimson verbally reported children who deliver papers
had complained of the theft of the bundles after the truck had
.dropped them. The Police are investigating.
Councillor Manning stated the business people in the north end have .
co-operated by removing the signs which had created a traffic
hazards.

Mayor Davis stated the Planning Board. had held a meeting to consider
the Zoning By--law and it will take a while yet.
Councillor Manning asked that the broken tree stubs be removed as
they are unsightly. Deputy Reeve Moffat reported that the water
hydrants used for flooding the rinks had again been broken after
just having been repaired and suggested a paid article be put
in the Banner explaining the heavy cost of repairs.

vandalism continues recreation services will have to be
discontinued."

Mayor Davis asked that December 26th. be proclaimed "Boxing Day."
WILLIAMSON: "mesolved that Saturday December 26th. 1964 is
MOFEAT: hereby proclaimed."Boxing Day" is the Town of Aurora."
Carried.
Councillor Williamson stated that a citizen who was interested in
employing three or four men had been deterred by high rental fees
in Aurora and this person has been offered space at a much lower
rental in Richmond Hill. Mayor Davis asked Councillor Williamson
to have him contact the Aurora Industrial Commission who would hP'
him.
Mayor Dayis said the Inaugural Council meeting will be held on
January 4th.l965 with the same program and ceremonies as previous
years and former Councillors and Mayors would be invited. Councillor
Williamson suggested the Inaugural be held in a larger room than the
Council chambers. Mayor Davis asked Council members to give some
thought to this.

Coun(lillor Jones thanked Council members for "Putting up with me"
and hoped Aurora will have as good or better Coucil than t~pse
in the past and also thanked the office staff for the consideration
g~ven him. Mayor Davis commended Councillor Jones on his long
service and the contributions to Aurora's success he had made
and that he will always be welcome at Council meetings.
Reeve Stoddart said he had mixed feelings on his retirement. He
had enjoyed the past 11 years and hoped he had been of some use
and the experience had been an education to him. He thanked
Clerk Johnson and his staff for the co-operation over the years
and would still be interested in Town Affairs and will be of
service if called upon.
Mayor Davis said he would repeat when he had said to Councillor
Jones and agreed that the Reeve has made many friends and extended
and inritation to join us at any time.
Councillor Manning said he would certainly continue to be
interested in the affairs of Aurora and recognized very well the
problems facing the incoming Council.
~r Davis invited all of the retiring members to come to Council
meetings.
