on the main streets are rough and a friend had fallen and
was injured.

Municipal Building.

scouts on Town Park Property.

REEVE STODDART IN THE CFJliR
REGENCY ACRES INDUSTRIAL AREA
Council members met on Monday, november 9,1964, in Committee of
the Whole with.N!r. \villiam Duncan, who represented Consolidated
Building Corporation Limited, to discuss the deplorable
condition of their property known as the Regency Acres Industrial
Area.
Mr. Duncan advised he would take the following matters back to
Mr. Shankman for discussion as to the intentions of Consolidated
Building Corporation.
1. The matter concerning the dumping of garbage and refuse in
this area.
2, Grading and Leveliling of the entire area from Yonge St. W.
3. Further consideration to constructing the proposed road known
as Regency Drive.
4. The problem that weeds and dead grass in Aurora Orchards
constituted an imminent fire hazard.

Councillor Jones verbally reported that bea~s had been
purchased froL the BAPTIST Church for $337.00.
Councillor Patrick verbally reported that the extension of the
Haternain and Sewers on Center Street has been co!e!pleted at a
cost of $1,425.00.
CJuncillor Child verbally reported that the Planning Beard
are still ;rorking on the Zoning By-law and will bring the "Land
Use Plan" into confornity with the By-law.
Councillor Hillia'J.son presented a report of the Police Cormi ttee
in which the Cor:11:oittee respectfully subnit the following:
The Police Co~ittee net on Saturday Novenber 7th. 1964 to discuss
the "Telex Plan;; and recoroc1end that Aurora participate in the
"Telex Plan and that Council assent to pay installation costs and
rental charges of $45.00 per nonth.

Driver's License be approved,"

"Resolved that the Police report dated Novenber
23,1964 re Cab Driver's License for
H.M. Donkers be accepted."

Councillor Sir.mons verbally reported that ' the
extermination of the rats was progressing satisfactorily
although sor1e bait traps had l•een thrown in the creek by
children.
Mayor Davis asked the By-law Co:cnnittee to hold a !'leeting to
consider Mr. G. Halker's request for exemption from paying
for the renewing of his water service.

HILLIA.i'1SON:
"Resolved that Mrs. H. Shoniker be appointed
a nember of the Aurora Recreation Com!'littee
to fill the vacancy thereon for the balance
of the year 1964 and the year 1965."
Mayor Davis asked if Ivan Daniel's had received a deed for
property sold him by the Town. Councillor Jones replied that
that the Town Solicitor was preparing a deed as he had
received a cheque.
Mayor Davis stated that Building Inspector Jubb had investi-
gated the issuing of a building permi\ to Owen Barr,
90 George St. in 1953 and asked Councillor Manning,
Solicitor McPherson and Mr. Jubb to discuss this problem and
endeavour to arrive at a solution.

better entrance to his business property for vehicles by
lowering th curb and sidewalk,
viiLLIAMSON: :Resolved that Mr. Huebner be permitted to take out
the sidewalk and curb and pave out into the gutter
fronting his property, at his o'm costs, and the
werk must be done to town specifications."

Councillor Hillia,son said the Rector of Trinity Church would like
to know how nany Council Members and wives would be attending the
dedication· ceremonies of the new addition to the church on
Tuesday, November 24th.
Hayor Davis polled the meabers and it was decided that eleven
1wuld attend.
Several members of Council will be at the Lions Civic night prior
to this meeting.
Councillor Patriclc asked if sub-division roads, not accepted by
'the Town as yet, 1<auld be snow cleared.

:Resolved that the Town Solicitor arrange for the
proper waiver to be signed by Sub-"Dividers to allow
sub division streets which have not been accepted by
the Town to be snow cleared. 11

Deputy Reeve Moffat asked that recognition be given to Larry Miller
for winning the Town Scholarship Award. The Deputy Reeve said
Principal Miller reQuested her to take back his sincere
appreciation.
