Mrs. Horlock, President, stated they hoped to serve the community in

Transportation Committee but was not aware
of their findings,
Mayor Davis requested Deputy-Reeve Mrs,
Moffat to present her Committee report at
this time
The Committee met and discussed at some lengt~
the brief presented by Ww. Fit~patrick con .•
cerning a proposed bus franchise and
stipulating a required subsidy of $3 1 500,00
on behalf of local bus service operaoed by
Miss M.s. White, Aurora,.

The Committee subsequently decided that, since the amount of
subsidy requested coupled with the cost of holding the required
plebiscite represented a considerable amount of monies, the matter
was not deemed warranted at this time,
The committee therefore recommend that a plebiscite respecting a
bus franchise and subsidy should be held at the same time as the
Municipal elections in December,

manning that a temporary franchise be entered into, with a non-
transferable clause,. and this is acceptable by Miss White, the
following amendment to the motion was put,

Reeve Stoddart verbally reported on the 1964 County
Budget and the mill rate was struck at 8,912 mills
~~ increase of 3.88 mills, which would increase
Aurora's leV,y by $8,677,00 Over 1963 for a total
of 1132 1 070,78
rcputy Reeve Mrs, Moffat verbally reported being
very busy at County Council andthe higher level
of Gevernment being more expensive,. The Deputy
Reeve objected to the pressure used for the
increas~salaries granted to the County Health
Unit Staff.
Councillor Jones, Chairman of the Property Committe
presented the ~operty report in which the Committee
respectfully submit the following:
The1Property Committee met on February 26 1 1964
to consider three tenders received on a truck
chassis with cab for the Sewage Plant and the
Committee recommends the Town purchase a 1964
Chevrolet Truck as per attached specifications,
from M,S, Macpherson Motors Ltd. for $3,380,00
plus taxes where applicable.
Also reviewed were the tenders received for the
steel sludge tank and committee recommends the
Towri purchase a tank, as specified and with
baffles, from Domestic Tank and Equipment Ltd, for
~;295,00 plus taxes where applicable,
JONES: 11 Resolved.that the report of the Property
SIMMONS: Committee, dated March 2,1964, Re, Purchase
of Truck chassis and steel sludge tank,
be approved and the seal of the Corporation
