Councillor Patrick presented a report of the
Water Coillnittee which the Committee respectfully
submits the following;
The Water Co~~ittee reports on the progress of
~u~er:;ts~~~e;~~~:~tw~~o~~~Ti~~dt~~~-the purpose
of taking pictures inside well no.2, lo?:lated
at the North end of ToW\). The ensuing pictures
indicated that the well was in good condition
with no defects show·ing, , • . .. , , .·. .
Subsequent,pumpi~g.t~sts were carr~ed out and
proved sat~sf~ctory at 309, g,p,n,, 1,000 g~p.m
and also 1,500 g,p.m; orith clear water being
produced on each occasion,
The installation of a new pump~ng system is now
being proceeded with and further results will be
reported on in the near future.

FEBRUARY 3, 1964
The Police committee with'other members of Council
met on Friday, January 31, 1964 to discuss the.
letter from Mr George Broome, in which he served
no~ice tp.at the police offices at 87A Yonge St.
South, be vacated not later than midnight March
31, 1994. This request to vacate was due to the
purchase of said property by the British American
Oil Co.
All Members agreed in favour of moving the Police
offices to the Town •ratenmrks building ~nd in
addition that one month notice be served to
Mr. Alex Higgins to vacate said premises.

Reeve Stoddart presented a report of the Finance
Committee 111hich the Committee respectively.
Submits the follo1,ring;
Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Aurora authorized the Finance Committee
to request the resignation of The Town Enginee'r.
And whereas the Fina~ce Committee requested the
resignation of the Town Engineer on or about the
16th of January 1964, .
And whereas to date the Town Engineer has not
submitted his resignation. ·
It is moved by William Stoddart and Seconded by
Jean Moffat and it is hereby resolved that the
services of the Town Engineer be suspended as of
May 4th, 1964 and that notice of this

Councillor Williamson said apparently a lot of
people are under the impression the Engineer is
being dispensed with because•of the over
expenditure on the Temperance st, job only and
asked th~t this be clarified as it is the result
of excessive costs of Town projects over a period
of years.

had been ma.deavailable, and a meeting should be
held in February so th?t your County represent-
atives will be guided by Councils• wishes in
regards to this report.

sludge truck which is in bad shape. ShQuld be
looking for a ne-.r truck chassis and a removalpe
tank body similar to Collis Leather Co. He will
call a committee meeting to decide on Tenders.
Mayor Davis enquired on the crosswall{ lights
progress. Councillor Williamson stated they have
been ordered but not received yet.

Committee to get project started,
There are grants available for Senior Citizens .

and also if done under the Winter 1rJ'orks. program,
Have to have plans and property before applying
for grants, but should start right away,
Councillor Williamson stated people are asking
for a Community centre and must make a start
somewhere,
Deputy-Reeve Mrs Moffat suggested a letter be
forwarded to. John Fisher and ask him to specify
which projects will qualify, Letter to be signed
by the Mayor.
