RAILWAY CROSSING Community Planning Association of Canada asking for Council's assistance in completing and returning an attached questionnaire, Also attached to the letter was a copy of the relevent extract from the Second Interim Report, for ease of reference to facilitate the Council's reply, mANNING: "Resolved tha:t copies of the letter be for- DAVIS: warded to members of Council and referred to the Committee of the Whole," Carried, minister of Highways, advising Council that an excess to the Aurora Shopping Centre, south and adjacent to the Brewers Retail Store, will be allowed, Webb and Knapp re: above, expressing their thanks for Cpuncil' s co-operation and support of thil i.r efforts, CHILD: "Resolved that the letters be filed and the STODDART: Department of Highways be instructed to proceed with the connecting link agreement," Carried, Centennial Committee, thanking all membBr of Council and town staff for the splendid support given to the Centennial Committee, and wishing all well for the future, DAVIS: CHILD: "Resolved that this letter be referred to the Mayor and a newly formed committee, to ascertain a way to recognize M~. Carrend, Consolidated Building Corp., submitting a proposal to improve the access road from Yonge S.t. to the industrial section of Regency Acres, WILLIAMSON: "Resolved that C,B,C, be notified that MANNING: the Town will enter into an agreement providing the Town is not obligated to supply new matterial or re-build, but, is respansible for the maintenance of the road, Also, if C,B,C. are willing to supply the Town with a 15" culvert, to be installed by the Town for drainage purposes," Carried. Mr. manning stated that the Committee had no choice but to accept Constable Coombe's resignation with regret, after he had declined to re-consider his ddecision, Discussion followed with members of Council express- ing their epinions in the matter, mayor Nisbet called a Police meeting for Monday October 28th, at 8,30 p.m. to clarify any dis-satisfaction which might exist in the Police Force, In attendance will be Chief Wm, Langman. Wfr, IVIurray suggested the sodding be approved, JONES: DAVIS: "Resolved that 700 sq, ft of slope on Temperance St. be sodded at a cost of $245,00 and the seal of the corporation be attached hereto." Carried, MOFFAT: "Resolved that the submission of a STODDART: question to the electors "Are you in favour of a 2 year term for elected Officials" be approved and the necessary by-law be prepared," Carried. L ___ c"~ -•-·~----·--~.,--~~-~~~~~~~~.· ... --~~---···~~--·····················~--····-~-·-······~-~-.~ .. 19TH REG UL.AR BY-LAWS # 1578 TO AlVJEND BY-LAW# 1051 NEW BUSINESS TRENCH INSPECTOR CHILD: SINCLAIR: -13-October 21,1963 "That leave be given to illtroduce a by-law to Amend by-law # 1051 and that the same now be read a first time," Carried, The by-law was then read a first time, MOFFAT: "That the by-law now before the Council STODDART: be read a second time and that the Council resolve itself into a committee of the whole for that :purpose," NISBET: "That the second reading of the by-law be WILLIAMSON: taken as read," Carried, MANNING: "That the by-law now before the Council WILLIAMSON: be read a third time this day and that rule 22 of By-law # 1468. be suspended for that purpose," DAVIS: n'J'hat the third reading of the by.:.. law be CHILD: taken as read," Carried, Councillor Jones suggested that Council consider hiring a trench inspector for Golf Glen Subdivision,, The Engineer stated that he would be responsible for the appointment of an all purpose inspector, ].!Jr. Bruce Mercer, appearing on behalf of the Jaycees,. roquested some information concerning the crosswalks The general feeling of tho Jaycees was that the crosswalk signs without the overhead lighting would be inefficient.
