Mayor Nisbet was presented with a set of seat
belts and complimented the Jaycee's for the
School Sign last year,
Councillor Moffat asked the Jaycees to consider
painting a 20 ft. wide red strip at the four
entrances to the town with a sign saying "We
are rolling out the red carpet for you,"
Mr. Hately re~uested the placement of the large
Centennial Crest sign somewhere in Town

Reeve Davis presented a report of the Committee
of the Whole in which the Comm~cttee respectfully
summit the following:
Council as a Committee of the Whole met on
Monday April 8, 1963 to gether with the Town
Building Inspector and 1~. J, Dol representing
Model Builders, Aurora Ltd, to consider the
building constructed on Block B., Industry St,
Plan 535.
It was determined that although the building as
constructed was closer to the lot lines than the
Town By-law stipulates, said discrepa~~ does not
interfere with other properties and therefore it
is hereby recommended that this contravention
of Town By-law 1051 be waived,

Certified copy of report to be forwarded to
owner,
Councillor Moffat reported ona foot path leading
into the former Vanek property, now a park, and
re~uested Council to have a black top sufface
be put on to save it, Councillor Child stated
a pathway from Huron Court was similar, Councillor
Moffat recommended that the Works Committee look
into this matter,

Councillor Jones rcported that a works committee
meeting had been held Thursday April 11th to
consider the purchase of a portable water pump
and would look at pumps and decide,
Councillor Jones requested that Council instnuct
the Town Engineer Murray to prepare plans for the
Paving of Temperance St, so that the contract
can be proceeded with as soon as possible,

Councillor Moffat reported that
Mr. Fisher, Chairman1 said the Board of Trade was
happy with the locatlon of the bell infront of
the Library and had received a price of $200, for
a concrete base and build up or ~t300, if lime
stone .capped, Plans show a stainless steel
plaque with a history of first steam train to
Aurora, The Board of Trade is seeking financial
help from Council mayor Nisbet stated the
Council believed this was a Board .of Trade project
and uuggested Councillor Nioffat inform them and
report at r:text Council meeting and that possibly
someone woulCI. consider danating a tree to the

Councillor Jones reported a pump was pumping
300 gallons in.stead of 500 and had been sent to
Toronto for ~~and on return would pump mor·e
water but as iu ~not working satisfactorily had
been set back to Toronto Again,
