Carried. ~ ,j I , __ , 'i· ~, I ~ ,...,.... ~ 3RD REGULAR . -4-February 4, 1963 REPORTS OF COMMITTEES SURETY BOND UNEl'IIPLOYl'IIENT INSURANCE ASSESSOR Deputy Reeve Stoddart presented a report o£ the Finance Committee in which the Committee respectfully Submit the following: "Pursuant to,the provisions o£ the Municipal Act, R,s.o. 1960p Section 234, the Bond held by the ~own o£ Aurora covering security o£ those o££icers handling municipal monies, must be produced to Council at a meeting held not later than February 15th in each year and Council shall £urther direct where said Bond shall be deposited £or sa£e keeping, The Committee hereby recommends that the Surety Bond be deposited in the Town O££ice Sa£e," STODDART; MOFFAT: STODDART: MOFFAT: "That the report of the Finance Committee regarding the Town of Aurora Surety Bond be accepted," Carried, "Resolved that for the purpose of certifying employment by Town o£ Aurora as permanent in accordance with the Unemployment Insurance Act and Regulations made by the Unemployment Insurance Comm. the following be and they are hereby authorized to issue certificates,: Title of Officer, Mayor, Town of Aurora. J.R. Marrow, be appointed Assessor. That places where large quantities of water is used -be metered, such as service stations, etc. That a new meter be purchased to replace the present meter at st. Andrews College, and that this new meter be installed .as recommend by the Company, as the present meter has been repaired and is not giving satisfactory readings. That a further study be undertaken with regards to a possible revision in Commercial-Industrial water rates presently charged. "~ 3RD REGULAR -6-February 4, 1963 U.NFINISHED :BUSINESS N!EW PUl'IIPHOUSE A letter was received from Proctor and Redfern advising Council that it would be unwise to alter the present plans fer the new pumphouse foundation, giving tDere reasons for this satement, and also advising a revision in the plans for the roof, A letter from Model Builders ltd4 submitting the specifications for the new pumphouse, and addition to the existing pumphouse, Town Engineer Mr, S, Murray wrote a letter to council e.utlining his duties ·as an engineer, and told members that his original plans conformed with.latest practices, ~~d that he disapproved of the contractor ~G drawing plans and specifications, Mayor Nisbet replied that the pumphouse the way" he but 1 had done it "the way wanted," Mr, Murray had "not dGoie"ldd had been asked by council,. he wanted and not what we Council then turned to the discussion of putting the well into operation for the new pump,. and Councillor Child suggested that the well be test pumped~ to see if the water level throughout the town has dropped any since the last eats were made, JONJ~S: DAVIS: "Resolved that the tender of Model Builders, Aurora Ltd, in the amount of- $12,000.for the construction of a pump- house and the addition to the existing pumphouse as revised be accepted and the Seal of the Corpor<\tion be attached heretol' c·arried The Mayor informed council that mr, Huffman has not as yet cut the pipe, which incidently, should have been grouted with concrete when lowered into the ground, -~,, ~· ~ i ''""'_, .. ;~, ·_, .. . .... -. ·----· ~ 3~ REGULAR NEW BUSINESS INVITATIONS EXTENDED TO COUNCIL '. -7-February '4r j.~tj, Council received the following invitations: 1.
