COMM!T~Et~f RE SUNNYBROOK RELEASE Mayor Nisbet read report of Committee of the Whole which follows: Councillor members met with :Mr·, Shoniker, :Mr, Kelner·~ :Mr, Joseph to-gether with :Mr, S, Murrey; Town Engineer and :Mr, T, McPherson, Town solicitor to discuss the release, in an appropriate form tor:.-registr- ation, of certain lots in Sunu7brook Sub division pursuant to the r"quirements of the Subdivision Agreement between Sunnybrook Investments Limited and the Town of Aurora. Carried, "•"'"''' ' f$'#' ~---_, --,-··· 21ST REGULAR RE;J?ORTS OF COMI!'IITTEES SEWA~I ~REATREMENT PLAN~ TREE CUTTING ; Ji• NOVEMBER 5,1962 -6- Oounctllor Corbett presented a report of the Property Committee in which the Committee respectfully submit the following The Committee has now perused a detailed report from the Ontario Water Resources Commission recommending that a Consulting Engineer be engaged to study the sewage treatment requirements of the Town of Aurora and further to prepare an estimate of cost of tho works to be undertaken~ Due to the fact that considerable moni'es and time must be allotted, the committee hereby recommends that further study and action oe left over for presentation to the incoming 1963 Council. the Committee further recommends that the 1963 Council cnnsider the selling and dismantling of the Sewage Treatment Plant greenhouse from the foundation up. Sewage Treatment Plant Greenhouses dated November 5 1 1962 be accepted," Carried, Councillor Jones presented a report of the Works Committee in which the collllil:'·ttee respectfully submit the following: The Committee has received, as requested, a detailed statement from the Aurora Hydro Electric Commission outling theman hours actually incurred in cutting certain trees at various locations in Aurora from January 1 to June '30, 1962, The Committee is ~<~t.iaj,ed with this statement and duly notes that no charges were made for cert- ain tree cutting of which this Committee was previously aware. Carried. Mayor Nisbet stated and Mr, s. l'ifu.:l;'ray and himself h~d atte~ded an I4dustrial meeting in Toronto and saw several things. Industries are trying to get canadian Industries to supply certain items they now must import. Mayor Nisbet stated that a »roblem had · come up r·egarding Ex:O'el Metal Craft desiring extra Land~ Councillor Murray, Town Engineer and others had gone down to see Mr. Bacon and he had agreed to sell land to ]heel Metal Craft. ~~yor Nisbet also informed Council that land on the west side of Edward st. has now been purchased by a new plant and construction would start next year. Councillor Jones informed Council he had i.nstructed the T.own Engineer to get prices for resurfacing of Wonderly and Iber Court Councillor Jones stated that he now had 4 tenders. Councillor Child read some of minutes, Finally ag:i:-eed by Councillor Cook and Reeve Rodgers that if any amalgmation of forces it should b_e only 3 municipalit:!.os, King, Whitchurch a:IJ.d Aurora, Councillor why there $50, ooo. 00 Cook coufud not give an answer as to Police Budget is $80 1 000. and ours Reeve Rodgers was looking forward to entering into a 5 group and when facts ~y forward to him he decided against since it might cost Aurora more, It is not necessary to set up a Commission, A committee might be set up. Councillor Child offered to answer any questions if he was able to, Councillor Child stated that after listening to pros and cons he didntt think it would do Aurora any harm to enter into j."~ .. ':lt force with 3 municipalities, Councillor Child stated that Aurora is the centre and taa the facilities to set up this arrangement, such as tower radio, good force, Councillor Child suggested that we try it ~or 2 year period and then if found not to bo working satisfactorily •( · they could each take their ovm:'l force. Councillor Sinclair stated that he was glad to see Councillor Child attend this meeting.· The motion wasthen Carried, BY-LAW SICK BENEFIT Councillor Jones enquired as to the by-law TOWN EMPLOYEES regarding sick :pay for Town Employees and Mayor Nisbet stated that it had received 2 readings only and would have it brought in and discussed next monday night. NEW BUSINESS 1963 COUNCIL DAVIS: STODDART: Mayor Nisbet inquired d~ Council their ins intentions for 1962,. Reeve Davis stated that he was as:pering for Reeve for 1963. De:puty Reeve Stoddart stated that he ho:ped to stand for De:puty Reeve for the year 1963.~ Councillor Corbett did not wish to make a statement at this time. Councillor Murray stated that he would stand for Mayor in 1963. Councillor Sinclair stated that he:· ho:ped to be a candidate for Council and that this was the moment to be frank and stated that if he thought there eos least likely hood of Councillor !Vlurray being l'ITayor J would not ::_, etand. · Councillor Sinclair stated that he would support Keith 100%. ·. Councillor Moffat stated that if the people wmuld support her she would run next year.
