Property Committee in which the Committee
respectfully submit the following:

Works Committee in which the Committee
respectfully submit the following:
"The Committee met on Monday October 1, 1962
to consider tenders received for supplying
V~<inter salt, 250 tons required,
Tenders received were from
Canadian Salt Co. at 11.90 a ton deliver plus
3% Sales Tax,
Sifto Sal Co at 11.90 a ton delivered plus 3%
Sales Tax,
The Committee therefore recommend that they
alternate purchases as and when necessary as
the prices are tho same,

Councillor Jones presented a report of the
Works Committee in which the Committee
respectfully submit the fol,owing:
"The Committee met on J\llonday October 1, 1962
to consider tenders received for $Upplying
Winter Sand,
The Committee therefore recommend that the
tender of Baker Sand and Gravel to supply
winter sand at a cost of 55 cents per ton be
accepted,"

Works Committee re tender received
from Baker Sand & Gravel Co, to
supply winter sand at a cost of
55 cents per ton be accepted and
the Seal of the Corporation be
attached thereto,"

respectfully submit the followine
Tenders were received from 5 contractoBs
with regards to the paving of parts of
Dunning Ave, Edward St. and Old Yonge St.
The Committee therefore recommend that the
tender of Warren Bituminous Paving Co, Ltd,
at a cost of $16,658,60 be accepted, subject
to the approval of the Department of Highways
of Ontario.

of creating a new park on the former Vanek
Property and suggested the Public be asked to
propose a name,

Councillor Murray also stated thatas the month
of September was so wet the work was slowed
down and although a lot of work had been done
it was ~~t as much as he had hoped,
DOG AND CAT CONTROL Councillor Sinclair presented a report of the
NO PARKING RESTRIC-Police Committee in which the Committee

SCHOOL QUARDS CANINE AND FELINE CONTROL
Your Committee gave further consideration to
the proposal made to Council recently by Mr,
White that The Humane Society take over the
control for the Tovm of Aurora of the Canine
and Feline problem and agreed on an offer of
$1,500, per annum for the same, and if accepted
by the Society that such control be recommended
to the 1963 co,ncil.
REQUEST FROM DR. CRAWFORD ROSE
Consideration was given to the request by Dr.
Rose in a letter dated September 15 that the
parking restrictions recommendOdby the Police
of 100 feet on Wellington East be reduced to
50 feet. Police Chief Wm. Langlilan having ~,,.,.sured
the Committee that he was willing to accept
Dr, Rose's request, the amended restriction was
agreed to.

BUS SERVICE
DANGEROUS HEDGES
Two replies were received by the Town Clerk
from homeowners stating that they had complied
with requests sent out from his office in
the matter of trimming dangerous hedges.
Resolved that the Town Clerk be instructed
to forward a second request by registered
msil to three home$Wners who so far had failed
to comply with Police recommendations~~
for the trimming of dangerous hedges.
SCHOOL PATROLS
The Committe noted with satisfaction copies
of letters from Police Chief Wm. Langman
notifying Bryon Langman and James Krochter Jr.
~nat although their services were being with-
drawn under new Ontario Government regulations
their past work was highly commended and that
it would stand them in good stead at some
future tim~.

which the Committees respectfully submit the

The Servies Committee met with the Police Comm-
ittee on _ tember 24 1 1962 to consider a
proposed bus service and review the one hour
parking limit on Yonge St. Also present

1. The Committee reco~ends that Miss White
be given the opportunity to operate a b-us
service between 9.30 a.m. and 4,30 p.m. from
tbe four sections of the Town ~o Yonge and
Wellington on an hourly basis, the fares
to be, adult 15cents children half fare.
Miss White to have reCJ,uisi te insurance~e>v·e:r~B.ge
CJ.Ualified stand-by-drivers, and adeCJ,uate route
with bus stops, to be arranged with the
assistance'of the Police Chief,
The annual license fee to be $50,00
The Solicitor has been reCJ,uested to prepare
the necessary by-law assisted by Chief Langman.
2, The Committee recommends a one hour
parking limit on Y0 nge St at any time in tne
former parking meter zones, and that a by-law
be prepared.

Councillor Child reported that he had, with
other members of Council? attended the police
meeting in KingTownship oo discuss the
feasibility of a joint police force with
other municipalities, As members of the press
were present the discussion was held under
wraps. Another meeting will be held with only
five members, one from each of the municipali-
ties concerned, Chairman Hodgson, Reeve, King
Township, will call the meeting and this
council should appoint a representative,
