Police Committee in which the Committee
respectfully submit the following:
"That Police Chief Wm,J, Langman be author-
ized to purchase equipment for the use of
the Police staff for the recording of reports
concerned with their duties in place of the
present pra~tice of typing such reports at
headquarters, the object of such purchase be-
ing to save the time of the police while on
active duty,
Use may also be made of the equipment to
record messages of urgency made to police
headquarters by outside persons provided that
in all such instances callers are warned fully
in advance of such statements that the same
will be recorded on tape for possible future
use,
That the foregoing arranged shall be reviewed
at approximately six months from the date of
this motion, that the cost of the said

of complaints received from residents and
the two industries at the south-west section
of town o~ncerning trucks travelling resid-
ential streets causing dust and traffic
hazards and the important need of the
construction of the access known as REgency
Road,

Deputy Reeve Stoddart advised Council that
ninety per-cent of the 1962 taxes had been
collected at September 15th. 1962,
Mayor Nisbet remarked that a Provincial
Government Inspector had visi•ted Aurora
in respect to checking our records concern-
ing the distribution of Administration of
Justice and had stated that the records
inspected were in his opinion the best he
had seen in this area,

Mayor Nisbet asked Council's o:p~n~on
regarding the use of school buildings for
:polling places for this years election,

the school buildings for
:polling places from the
respective School Boards,"

Mayor Nisbet felt that due consideration be
given to the single surface treatment this
year of Wonderly Drive and Iber eJourt and
in addition to consider a one inch topping
in the near futuro of the streets in
REgency Acres Subdivision,
Councillor Moffat advised that the Services
Committee along with the Police Committee
would hold a meeting on Monday September
24th, 1962 at 7,00 p,m, to discuss the
:proposed bus service request by ]/!iss S,
Vfuito.
Councillor Jones brought to Council's ~tten
tion that difficulty had been encountered
with the water pumps and since Alex Higgins
was on vacation and as a result no one could
hear tho warning bell at the waterworks
building nor noticed when the rea· warning
light was on to indicate trouble,
