Cole on their sixtieth wedding anniversary, Councillor Child brought forward the matter of complaints received from residents and the two industries at the south-west section of town o~ncerning trucks travelling resid- ential streets causing dust and traffic hazards and the important need of the construction of the access known as REgency Road, CHILD: STODDART: "Resolved that a letter be forwarded to I!Jr, Shankman, Consolidated Building Corporation advising him of complaints received from two Industries arising from the necessity of reaching their area via the subdivision arteries and further ascertain what their intentions are regarding the construction of Regency Drive and also advise that Council have been anxiously awaiting the finalization of this road," Carried, 18TH REGULAR REPORTS OF COMMITTEES 1962 TAXES COLLECTED BY-LAWS PARKING RESTRICTIONS By-law 1543 -15-September 17, 1962 Deputy Reeve Stoddart advised Council that ninety per-cent of the 1962 taxes had been collected at September 15th. 1962, Mayor Nisbet remarked that a Provincial Government Inspector had visi•ted Aurora in respect to checking our records concern- ing the distribution of Administration of Justice and had stated that the records inspected were in his opinion the best he had seen in this area, MOFFAT: SINCLAIR: "That leave be given to intro- duce a by-law to amend the Parking Restrictions on Wellington St. west and exempt Saturdays and that the same be now read a first time." SINCLAIR: "That the by-law now before the MOFFAT: Council be read a second time and that the Council resolve itself into a committee of the whole for that purpose," CHILD: "That Clause 4 reading : DAVIS: Extenuating circmmstances may be referred to Council f®r further consideration'' be deleted,'' DAVIS: NISBET: Carried, "That this by-law be given one reading only to-night and that it be held over for further study," Carried, .' ---. i '-..._.:.- - 18.TH REGULAR NEW..BUSlNESS POLLING STATIONS SINGLE SURFACE TREATMENT -WENDERLEY DRIVE AND IBER COURT -/~~~r/'7~ ',,·,; BUS SERVICE EIFFICULTY WITH WATER PUMPS FEASIBILITY - POLICE DEPARTMENT MOVING INTO WATERWORKS BUILDING -18-:S<il:ptember 17 1 1962 Mayor Nisbet asked Council's o:p~n~on regarding the use of school buildings for :polling places for this years election, DAVIIS: MOFFAT: "That the Clerk be authorixed to request :permission to use the school buildings for :polling places from the respective School Boards," Carried, Mayor Nisbet felt that due consideration be given to the single surface treatment this year of Wonderly Drive and Iber eJourt and in addition to consider a one inch topping in the near futuro of the streets in REgency Acres Subdivision, Councillor Moffat advised that the Services Committee along with the Police Committee would hold a meeting on Monday September 24th, 1962 at 7,00 p,m, to discuss the :proposed bus service request by ]/!iss S, Vfuito. Councillor Jones brought to Council's ~tten­ tion that difficulty had been encountered with the water pumps and since Alex Higgins was on vacation and as a result no one could hear tho warning bell at the waterworks building nor noticed when the rea· warning light was on to indicate trouble, Councillor Sinclair instructed the Clerk to request the Police Chief to have his men on duty periodically chock this building to see if the rea warning light was on, The Police Committee were to considere tho feasibility of the Police Department moving into tho Waterworks building, DAVIS: "Elat the meeting Adjourn".
