Councillor Jones presented a report
of the Park& Committee in which the
Committee re:wpectfully submit the follow:
At its regular meeting held on MOnday
February 19, 1962 the Council instructeq
the Parks Committee to meet with the Pa~1
~card and aiscuss the status of the Boa~i
This meeting was held in the Council
chambers on Thursday March 8th. 1962
Following this meeting the Parks Commit-qE
make the following recommendation to Co'¥
1. That for the time being at least th~i
the Parks Board be asked to continue, ·
2. That the by-law bringing the Parks
Board into being, be amended so that th~
duties of the Board, may be more clearly
spelled out, and made more applicable to
to-days conditions. ·
J, In drafting the new by-law it is
recommended that representation from the
Board be present.
4. The Committee feel as if the Board
should be of an advisary nature, and if a
large amounts of money are to b~ spent
or big projects to be undertaken, they
they should be the responsibilty of the
Council.

a meeting soon to decide on the settling
of this.account. Require a resolution ·
of council whether I issue a writ or
attempt to settle this matter amicably.
Feel the Town has a good case.

Councillor Moffat stated she had recei'

Councillor Moffat stated that we do h@.'
a by-law and feel the police should
not say such a thing and further that
the Police Committee chairman advise
the Chief that we have a good by-law
and that ho should so inform his staff

Councillor Davidson -Feel it is
about time we raise our dog licence fees
Mayor .Nisbet stated it was too late ··
for 1962 but the matter should be locke~
into for 1963. ·
Councillor Corbett -Talked to our
Librarian and ~wanted to know if
Council were going to do anything with
the present library and I told her the
matter had been brought to the Council
and Council had decided it was an excel1
idea to add an addition to the present ·
building or to build a new one. Council
Corbett stated the librarian had said '
anyghing done would be welcome to alloyv
her more room. Councillor Corbett ··
felt that Council members should drop in
and look the situation over, Mayor Niilb$
feel the Library Board should come up
with some suggestions and then Council
might consider it. Councillor Moffat sta
it is the duty of the Library Board to ·
look into the ~rant situation and asce~·
if we could obtain a higher grant. '
Mayor Nisbet felt that the present
building still has a lot of good use ang
should not be torn« down. Councillor ·
Moffat stated that the construction of
a new library presents a prob2lem of
where to maintain present library while
construction is going on and felt that W'
might utilize the Arena room during the
summer : months,
lV!ayor Nisbet statedwe should be hearing ·
from Mr. Sidel shortly .. in respect to
this matter.
Councillor Jones advised Council that
numerous potholes were appearing in the
roads iniAurora Heights Subdivision ·
and requred as what tcould be done in
this matter.
Mayor Nisbet s~ated he will bring this
matter up with Mr. Sorbara ,

Councillor Jones inquired if it was okay
to go ahead and fix up these roads,

Councillor Jones stated he was down in
Regency Acres Subdivision and that there
nre no signs posted restricting half
loads, at this time of year,
Mayor Nisbet stated we have no by-law
at the presnnt time covering this matter,
It was decided that signs should be placed,
in this area.
Reeve Davis stated he had received a request
to leave the meter posts up in Town as both
a direction as to where cars might park
and further that they may have some use
next year for centennial purposes.

Councillor Jon<s advised that a resolution
on the books at present is that . ~hese
metor posts be removed, Councillor Davidso
felt the meter posts were very unsightly
as they now are,
