quirements for the Proper operation of the Sewage treatment
plant .was read. It was decided that this letter be turned over
to the Chairman of the Property Committee.
A letter from the Canadian National Railway regarding Crossing
protection at Wellington St. Aurora was read.

A letter from Upper Holland Valley Conservation Authority con-
cerning the appointment for the year 1958 to this authority was
r ead .

1958.
Carried.
A letter from Solicitors, Reycraft, MacDonald & Thompso n Re-
Aurora Hights Ltd, re quest ing the establishment of a Committee
of Adjustments under the p rovisions of the Planning Act was read.

Carried.
Mr. Row appeared before Council and requested information con-
cerning bringing under co~trol the odor arising from the Sewage
Plant and in particular t4at this control be accomplished p rier
to next summer. Mr. Ro w was advised by Council that the matter
is certainly be ing proce~ded wi th as quickly as possible and it
was certa inly anticipated and that satisfactory results would
a nd are being obtained.
Mr~ G. Proctor app eared be fore Council and explained that he
had forwarded requests for specifications and erection a nd
supply of the elevated tank and tenders in connection with the
wo rks of Stage 3 will close on January 24th, 1958. Mr. Proctor
further advised that a clause would be inserted in the contract
that tenders willonly be awa rded when the app roval of the Ontario
Municipal Board has been obtained. It was decided that the fire
and water committee would meet and deal with tenders on the
evening of Fr ~day, J a nuary 24th , 1958.
HEPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Deputy Reeve Nisbet reported to Council the matter of a charge
for a sign in front of the Muni cipal Bui lding being replaced by
Andy's Sign Co •• It was further decided that the Deputy Reeve
should investi gate this matter further before the ma tter is
finalized.
De p uty Reeve Nisbet further reported to Council tha t te sts of
sewage s amples submitted by Collis Le athe r Co. Ltd. a re still
gre a ter than the maximum a g reed upon. Deputy Reeve Nisbet further
stated tha t the op eration at the Sewage Disp osal Plant was
p rogre ss ing very well and that he would recommend that t wo men
are employed full time a t the Plant.

11 That "t-Te send a letter commending our caretaker,
Mr. H. Squibb, thanking him for the excellant
undertaking accomplished in preparing the Council
Chambers and various offices for the Inaugural
Meeting held on Monday evening, .January 6th, 1958.
Carried.
Councillor Davidson brought forward the matter of ordering trees
to decorate around the sewage disposal plant. It was decided
that this matter be p laced on the agenda and be brought up
in the near future.
A vote of thanks was extended by Council to Mr. & Mrs. Murray
for their kind reception held following the Inaugural Mee ting .
BY-LAWS
CORBETT:
CHILD:
"That leave be given to introduce a By-law to appoint
a Committee of Adjustment and that the same be now
read for the first time.11
Carried.
The By-law was then read a first time.
STODDART:
NISBET:
11 That the By-law· now before · the Council be read a
second time and that the Council dissolve itself
into a committee of the whole for that pur pese."
Carried.
The By-law was then read a second time in committee of the whole
and the reading was then approved in Council.

"That the By -law be taken as read a third time.11
Carried.
Mayor Murray b rought to Council's attention that the ·proper ty
behind the existing Post Office may be utilized as a parking
lot and it was suggested that this matter be further invest-
i gated reg arding·approval and the advisability of access being
made to the South. ·
Councillor Child reported that Garden City, Aurora are extremely
anxious to p roceed Re-their subdivider's agreement and suggested
that a Commit tee Meeting should be held prior to a meeting
with representatives of Garden City Aurora.

Report of the Aurora Parks Board for the year 1957 was read to
Council. The Parks Board report was then turned over to the
Chairman of the Parks Committee.
Councillor Davidson suggested that the Property Chairman look
into the matter of purchasing some ne\~ equipment that might be
required relating to the Public Works Department. Discussion
brought forward several vielvp oints and the matter was left in
the hands of the Property Chairman.

Councillor Davidson further suggested tha t old By -laws should be
presented at each Council Meeting for review.
