.Mr. Lee further brought to Council's attention that a survey
.description of property across the golf course would be .

.Mr. G.U. Proctor quoted two estimates received from surveY.ors
.in connection with the survey of easement.

land required fro easement purposes in · '
connection with extension of watermains to the
Berger property and that they be advised of the
urgency of e~rly completion and that the seal
of the Co!'poration be attached hereto. Estimated
cost to be $6oo.oo 11 •
Carried.
Councillor Nisbet reported that the existing agreement with
the Collis Leather Co., Ltd., stipulates that waste materials
should not exceed .350 parts per million. He suggested that.
we wait for a further and more up to date report from Dr~
Berry 1 s o1'fice before proceeding further in this matter.
REPORTS OF COHliTTTEES
Fire and W ater Committee
Reeve Davis reported on tenders opened by a committee on
Friday evening, November 29th, 1957. Mr. G.U. Proctor then
handed out copies of .Tender Board Sheet ori which five .tenders
were reported and ·these tenders were read to the Council by
the engineer. General discussion took places concerning contractors
A.E. Hawkins & Co. Ltd. and Pearce Construction who had
submitted the J,owest tenders. Mr. Williams, who was present,
on request reported on the satisfactory standing of A.E.
H~wkins and w as favourable to .their previous work.

11 That the Waterworks Committee deal with the
tenders of Hawkins and Pearce and also
recommend the type of pipe to be used:

Mr. G.u. Proctor requested Council's permission for tentative
purchase of.l411 valves so that. these valves !llay be avail!ible
l~hen required.

the building permit for Sterling Drug Company and advised that
the plans were in the hands of The Department of Labour and
that -approval '"rill be obtained by engineers as soon as
poal3i'ble.
FINANCE COMMITTEE
Councillor Stoddart reported on the approval of the contract
agreement between the Corporation of The Town of Aurora and
The Aurora Hyro-Eleotric Commission to arrange with the
commission for the collection and billing by the commission
for the water and garbage accounts. It was decided that
certain ~Iterations be made to the draft form of agreement
b~fore Council.

next meeting of Council for signatures."

POLICE COMMITTEE
His Worship Mayor Murray REPORTED to Council regarding the
purchase of a new cruiser for the Police Department.

11 That the Police Committee be authorized to
negotiate for a new police cruiser at an
e$timated cost of $2,000.00 and the Seal
of the Corporation be attached hereto 11 •

11 That this meeting continue beyond the
hour of 11.00 p.m. n.
Councillor Adair advised Council tha~ the placing of a
policeman at the intersection of Yonge and Tyler Streets
during rush hour peak in the evening '"'as of the utmost
urgency.

11 That this matter be referred to the Police
Committee for inveetlgation 11 •
Deputy Reeve Jones brought to Council 1 s attention the fact
that the Department of High'"rays would give favourable
consideration to the transfer of $2,035.00 from construction
account to maintenance account for subsidy purposes' in the
year 1957.
JONES: 11 That the Department of Highways be requesteo.

DAVIS: to re-allocate from construction account to
maintenance account the amount of $2,035.00
appearing on by-law 1309 as construction and
which construction will not be undertaken in 1957.

Mayor Murray reported that Hart Manufacturing Company were
celebrating their tenth anniversary on December 12th, 1957
and suggested it appropriate that a letter be fortorarded to
