Extensions -Stage Ll were read and it was decided to hold

Reeve Davis· presented to Council the report regarding the
letting of a Contract for Stage 11. -1411 watermain, in
which it was recommended that 1411 Asbestos Cement Pipe,
Class 200 at a cost of $18,202.37 be used as quoted by
Canadian Johns-Manville Co., Ltd., and the Committee would
await a report from the Engineer as to the contractor after
he ha<i achance to check the tenders submitted. The foll-
owing fillings will abo be required:

Mayor Murray reported that the Police Committee recommads
that Constable D. Andrews be placed as Second Class Con-
stabel rectoactive to November 1, 1957 and tha·t overtime
accumulat.ed by policemen· be paid to November 1, 1957 and
that further overtt~e incurred ~uring November and December
be used up by method .of time off.

and Yonge Stre!lt to advertise the sale of lots.

Ml$o,r .. Murray presented to Council the further request for
a permit of Mr. A.L. Cousins t.o place a sigh on the corner of
Cousins Drive ana Yonge Street advertising Pony Farm.
It was decided that this permit be presented at the next
Council meeting for further consideration.

all new and remodelled dwellings in the Town .of Aurora.

The By-law was then read a third time and the reading was
approved by Council.
NEW BUSINESS
Deputy Reeve Jones reported to Council on the dangerous
condition this time of year pertaining to the icy sidewalk
condition on Centre Street.

a railing on the North side of the sidewalk
on Centre Street to'the ap:prdach to the Theatre
at an approximate cost of ilOO,;OO and the Seal
of the Corporation be. at·tached thereto." ·
Carried.
Mayor Murray suggested to Council that a motice be inserted
in the Aurora Banner that Sidewalks must. be kept clear of
snow and ice. In addition Mayor Murray brought to Council's
attention that a proclamation re Boxing Day be published,

Chairman of the Finance Committee~ ·
. Councillor Stoddart extended an invitation the Council and
their wives to be guests of himself and Mrs. Stod9-art at;
their house following Council Meeting on the evening of
Monday, December 16, 1957.
