On Monday, September 9th the Fire and Water. ·Committee
met to open the tenders tor the building of the pumphouse at the
new well, also tenders tor the extension of the wate~main.. Also.
present were· the Mayor, Co\mcillors Adiiir; Davidson 'and. St.oddart.
Subjeot to the terms ot the te~ders meeting with tlie. Town Engineers
.specifications the following tenders ·were recommended >to be let.
Pumphouse --cornish Construction tor the sum of $28,100.00.·
Watermain Extension -" Reg Don tor the sum ot: '$.3,799/;70 -Asbestos
cement pipe.

at this point and advised that the' above ten:d&r ot Reg Don
provided tor the laying only 'ot the .asbestos cement pipe re
'lange Street S. and, upon being requested, M,r. Proctor agreed
to provide an estimated cost ci.n the 'above p~pe.

The Acting Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Wm.Johns~n
that he was the newly-appointed Clerk and Treasurer and
that his duties would commence October let, 1957.

A letter trom the Towt\ Solicitor pertaining to 'a· -release
trom the sub-divider's agreement ot Lots 6,7, and 32
Plan 488 re Case Subd~vision and Lots 7 and 12, Plan 487
re ·· Cousin~ Subdivision, was reaci •.
The solicitor's release,and discharge was also read.·
The matter ot discussing this subject at this special meeting
wasbrought up and a majority vote agreeing upon carrying
on the discussion was carried.
Genera:L .. discussion continued re 11 Stage I 11 as it applied to
Calwood Subdivision and as it applied to Aurora Developments
Ltd~ allowing 18 houses at tirst in this latter case.

informed that Mr. Robt~ Case had had these lots and building
sites surveyed~ National.Housin~ Act are now questioning

the Town Ottice and to be attached to the Subdivider's
Agreement.
