present a report on the Assessor's Convention which he had

Mr. J~ Hamill attended before Council rega;rding_an account:for
work _on the Centre Street pu~phouse. Mr. Don Redfern of
Proctor and Redfern agreed to have this matter resolved by the
next meeting of Council.

with all members of the Committee present. Also present ~ere
Councillors Davidson, Stoddart, Adair together with
M~. D .• Redfern-and the Waterworks fluperintendent and the '+'own

water Rates~ . .
Consideration was given to the revi~ion of the water rates. In
view ofthe tn-creased:·e:xpenses as.-a .. result of the new well and
in view of the annual payments as a_result of debentures to be
issued to provide for capital work!!, it:is recommended that the
water rates be increa~;~ed to the following figures: · · · · · · · · · · · ·
Full (l.omestic service, Gross -$30.00 per year, N __ e __ t -~24_ ._. 00 pe __ r year.
Two outlets, . Gross -$20~00 per year, N.et -16._00 per year.
One Outlet, Gross -$14.00 per year, Net -10.00 per year.
For other rates which have been set for special purposes it is
recommended that the gross and net rates be ddUbled~ ·
It is also recommended that the rate for metered service
be at the rates of 25f& per thousand gallons for the first fifty
thousand, and 20¢ per thousand, for· the remainder.. -
It is recommended that these new rates take effect from
--. Ju:j.y 1st, 19 57~ ;.
The layol;lt of the nel'r wep was also consiCj.ered, ~nd it
was agreed to allow the m~in to be laid along the south fence of the
Aurora Heights property to Yonge Street.
, __ The Committee recommend that the necessary material for the
installation of house services on the new watermain where required
. by-purchased from Canada Brass Limited. .
· Discussion ~lao took place on the pumping equipment' for
the new well, andron the layout of the pumphous~. The .Committee
recommends that a deep·we:tl pump be purchased and be placed in the
new well, and that the engineer meet with the well-drillers to_
ascertain the drillers• requirements in order to incorporate them

consideration at a later meeting after the members of council
