Subject: Paving of Streets. ,
That on Friday, February 1st the Committee met for the
purpose of discussing the possibility of paving more streets.
l>!embers present Jones, Davis, Davidson also the l4ayor and
Councillor Adair. After a lengthy discussion and taking into
consideration the.t all paved streets in to1vn have been done under
the Local Improvement Act, and that the residents of Centre Street
already have a petition in for the paving of a portion .;yf the
street, we feel that the only fair way for the paving of more
streets would be to continue under the Local Improvement plan.
1tie feel that unless "re are petitioned for pavement under the
L.I. plan, the best thing to do as maintenance is to continue
under our present system of oiling <·rhich is quite expensive
and very inconvenient especially for a week or so 1·rhen the oiling
is done.
