Streets Committee Councillor Nisbet reported on the need· for a street light on Temperance Street. · NISBET: DAVIBSON: 11 That the Hydro be instructed to install a street light on Temperance Street near the Clarkson residence and the Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto 11 • Carried. By-laws Committee Councillor Bailey reported that the solicitor had been instructed to bring in a by-law to·conform with the Fire Marshall's reco!Jllllenda t1 one. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The proposed amendment to the ~nd Use By-law was discussed and left for further consideration under By-Laws. A request from Canton Rayside Township for the acceptance .. of .. · ... Mrs. Olive Carr as a resident of the town of Aurora was considered. CORBETT: IIThat the request be not granted" IIThat the situation be reviewed with the idea of . getting the owner to contribute to the cost 11~ Carried Deputy Reeve Jones reported on the sidewalk in front of the Glen Aura apartment building on Yonge Street South.· Thi~ matter was left for further consideration by the Streets Committee. · -·· Deputy Reeve Jones also reported on the proposed drainage on Irwin Avenue. This matter was discussed· and left for further inspection, and a decision-at·a later meeting. A question was asked regarding the_reports required from-the Engineer for certain paving work in the town, and it was reported that nothing had_ yet been received trom the Engineer. Instructions. were given tor the' ·clerk to obtain these reports for the next meeting. · · · · Councillor Corbett reported on the condition of the side~alk on the west side of Yonge Street south~ The Streets Commi~tee was instructed to look into this matter. Councillor Stoddart reported· on the condition of a tree stump outside Mr. George Morris' house on Centre Street • • ~ ~ (") ~ t:r:l : .. , STODDART: BAILEY: Page 9 15TH MEETING 11 That the tree .stump be cut down to a more satisfactory level 11 • . Carried. 155 Councillor Davidson reported on the condition of the Town Park and instructions were given for the holes to be filled in. Councillor Davidson also reported on a request trOll! the Recreation Commission for permission to store equipment in the red barn in the rear of the Waterworks property. This matter was left for further investigation. Councillor Bailey reported on a pipe sticking out of the sidewalk on Yonge Street South,and instructions were given for this condition to be corrected. Councillor Davidson reported on the condition of a parking meter on Yonge Street, and instructions were given for this meter to be straightened. Councillor Corbett reported on a by-law passed by Whitchurch Township to control garbage dumping in that township. He reported that the garbage contractor was now bringing him further information on this matter. Reeve Davis requested that the stop sign at the corne~ of Mosley and Yonge Streets be replaced.
