DAVIS BAILEY, CO~ETT, STODDART, Mr~ William Haskett attended before the Council to ask for the backing of the Council tor a proposed Radto Station to serve Newmarket and Aurora and the surrounding areas. This matter was ~Left for consideration later. 141 Mr. s. Qoxford attended before the Council to ask for a letter of support for a proposed Radio Station to be located in the Richmond Hill area. This matter was also left over tor further consideration at a later date., QONTRACTS ~R SEWER AND PUMP HOUSE INSTALLATIONS The tenders for the installation of sewers and a sewage pump.house were further considered. DAVIS: STODDART: 11 That these contracts be lett over until the next meeting of the Council 11 Carried, OTHER BUSINESS Mr. John A. Mason attended before the Council in support of' a building permit application for the erection of an apartment house on Yonge Street North, BAILEY.: DAVIS: 11 That an application be made for an amendment to the · · ·Land Use By_;Law to .p.rov'ide tor the erection of this apartment house 11 Carried. 142 Page 2 -SPECIAL MEETING July 2J rd. The provision of sewer and water mains to the proposed apartment building was also considered and left for further discussion at a later date. The change of the hydrant o~ Yonge Street in front of the Post Office was then discussed briefly. It was reported that the Engineers had requested the erection of a temporary bridge north of the Disposal Plant. This matter was left for futher discussion at a later meeting. · A letter from Proctor, Redfern and Laughlin J?eporting on the storm drainage on Irwin Avenue was read. · DAVIS: CORBETT: 11 That this matter be left until the return of the Streets Committee Chairman. 11 Carri.e.d •.... A letter from the Departmentof Municipal Affairs regarding a proposed by-law to grant partial exemption of' taxes to the Aurora Braririht Canadian·Legion was read. CORBETT: STODDART: 11 That a by-law be prepared to grant tax exemption for a further period the Legion partial of five years 11 Carried. ·· A letter from Proctor, Redfern and Laughlin regarding a proposed water main extension east of the railway tracks was read. · BAILEY: DAVIS: 11 That the Engineers be notified not to call for tenders for thi.s. wo.rk until. ins.tru.c.t.ed. by .the Co:unci.l.11 • Carried. Mr. s. J. Kelner attended before the Council regarding the proposed building on the corner of' Yonge and Moaley.Streets. This matter was discussed at length. DAVIS: 11 That the meeting now adjourn."
