MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL HELD IN THE

Mr. D. James Murray atter,ded before the Council on behalf of.the
Aurora Branc~, Canadian egion to request partial tax exemption on
the Legion Hall. This matter was left for further consideration at
a lat.er date.
Mr. Don Glass attended before the Council on behalf of the Aurora
Board of Trade to present further particularlY of the erection of
signs at each end of the Town. This matter was left for considerat-
ion later.
Mr. Paul Phillips of Proctor, Redfern & Laughlin attended before
the Council to present particulars of the sewers to be installed on
the East side of the railroad tracks.

~That the engineers be given permission to call for
tenders for this work".

The condition of the sidewalk,and the curbs and gutters on Yonge
Street was discussed.
The question of signs was then further considered.

11 That the t01'1'n accept the recommendation of the
Sign Committee and give them permission to erect
one sign each at North & South end of town. Also
that the town will accept the responsibility for
maintenance and for lighting of signs up to a cost
of $150.00, and the seal of the Qorporation be
attached hereto." ·

The installation.of storm sewers on the proposed egtension of
Dunning Avenue was then considered.
The purchase of machinery for the sewage pump house on Wellington
Street East was discussed and the engineers were instructed to get
further costs on this machinery.
Mr. Lorne Cousins and Mr. Robert Case then.attended before the
Council to dicuss the proposed agreements for the opening of their
sibdivisions. This matter l~as discussed at length. ···
Councillor Corbett then reported on the swimming programme of the
Recreation Committee •
Mr. Joe Marrese attended before the Council on behalf of Aurora
Heights to discuss matters relating to the Aurora Heights Sub.:: ...
division. These matters were then left for discussion at a later
meeting.
Deputy·Reeve Jones reported on the installation·of culverts on
Dunning Avenue and idward Street and also on work to be.done on side-
wg.ks during the summer.
The aquisition of a new mower was then considered.
