The Separate School Board has asked that the Separate
School rate be the ·same as the public school :r'S.te.
There .fore 1 in addi ~ion to. the· Separate School supporters
bearing their share of the public school, debenture now in
existence as required by Provincial Statutes, there will
als.o be levied on Separate school· supporters, for
separate school maintenance and-debentures, a mill rate of
8.3 mills
The total mill rate for both Public School and Separate
School supporters will ·therefore be 43 mills.

The Fir~; and Water Committee met on Thursday, April 26th to dis-
cuss the payments to the Fire Chief and to. members of the Fire
Department. Also present were the Mayor and Councillors Davidson,
Nisbet and Stoddart. The oommi ttee recommends .. the following:

Councillor Nisbet reported on the cleaning of the town park and
suggested the hiring of Mr. 'Bert Harris for this work again.
Councillor Nisbet also asked that the '11 No Parking" signs at the

Councillor Davidson reported on the schedule for the park,
and informed Council-that he had not yet been able to
draw up the necessary schedule• ·
Councillor Davidson also reported on progress made with the
clubs in the town regarding signs at:the north and south
entrances to the town.
Planning Committee.
Councillor Child presented the following written report of·
the Planning Committee.

At a meeting of this Committee, together with all members of
Council, held Apr. 2Jrd 1956, it was unanimously agreed that
the Direction received from Mr. & Mrs. E. Dailey regarding

assessment of the Miller sub-division could not be approved.
