MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL HELD IN
THE COUNCIL CHAMBER ON MONDAY, MARCH 26TH, 1956 AT

A letter from the·Liaison Committee of the Recreation
Commission and the Arena Board asking that the Town
employ William Patrick during the summer for cutting
grass in the Parks under the direction .of .. the .Recreation.
Director.was read.

A letter from Aurora Textiles Ltd. pointing out alleged
deficiencies in the Town Police system was read.

OTHER BUSINESS.
The ·need for a.su.:rvey of .. lands on the east side of·the railway
tracks fol' the installation of·the pumphouse and for easements
f9r.' se'l';ers etc. was considered.

right-of-way, and of the strips of land over which
easements shall be required for such services be

and permission for imlllediate rights to. enter the
property to stake out any survey. That, thereafter,
the surveyor be authorized.to survey the parcel

The Mayor reported that. the Municipal Board had approved the
expenditure of $JJO,ooo.oo for the alteration and extension
of the Sewage Treatment Plant.

11 That the Engineer be instructed to enquire into
the effect of the 1956 Budget .on the cost of the
Disposal Plant alterations, as a result of the
change in tax on steel for municipal purposes".

Councillor Nisbet reported .on th~--~1'e_c1;J()ngf the new Fire. Hall.

King City, Nicholls Flyers, on the winning of the
O.M.H.A. Juvenile C Championship".

Mayor Henderson asked that the Council consider.the appointment
of an Engineer at a meeting in the early future.
The date of the next regUlar meeting of Council was considered •
