The Fire and Water Committee together with Councillors Stoddart
and Davidson met on March 15th, 1956 to discuss the requirements
for the Fire Brigade for the current year. we·re<louinierid that···

The Fire Ch~ef also recommended that th!3· hydrant in front of the
Post OtfiQe ·be increased .to a 6° hydrant; and,;. that •two hydrants
be in13,1;a1led behind·, the business section on Temperance· Street,·
and that the main on the same street be increased to 6 11 • Uso
that this main be connected to Wellington Street. It was
further recommended by the Fire Chief that a hydrant be
~nstalled on Victoria.Str!3et in front otMl'• Q.D. Hess' house,

NEW BUSINESS
The Clerk reported that the Bell Telephone: Company had
requested payment of an account for damage to a Bell
Telephone Cable in June of 1955.

The Clerk reported that he had received a request from the
Aurora Kennel Club for the placing of an advertisement in
the Dog Show programme.

dog sho.w at a cost not to exceed $.35.00, and
that the seal of the Corporation be attached 11 •

Deputy Reeve Jones reported on a request for a street light
on Mill Street.. It was agreed to leave this matter in the
hands of the Streets Committee •.
Councillor Stoddart reported on a statement from Parkes,
McVittie and Shaw re the insurance on the Arena.

encourage the·erection of low priced·.hollies, and this matter
