circulated to members.

F;l.re Chief Harry Jones presented his &lnual Report of the
Fire Department, and also a report of his attendance at
the Fire Chief's course held in Toronto.

' Councillor Jones reported on the condition of a portion of !
the sidewalk on Spruce Street. \

sidewalk lies with them, and instructing them

Report of Finance Committee •-Subject Insurance •.
Councillor Stoddart presented the follolting report:
'l'HE COMMI'l'TEE respectfully submit the following:.

.. At the time the Insurance coverage was studied there
was $1.0,000, on the Munioipai Chamber and the new addition
was partly built. It was recommended that the coverage
be increased to $35,.000. to which Council gave its approval.
With the new building· completed· and the· older part of the ,/
building also receiving certain improvements ana alterations "'
it is recommended that the total coverage now be brought up
to·$5b,ooo. on the building~
It is also recommended that when the new Council
is formed that ·the matter of collision insurance on all '
motor vehicles be considered~ At present, and over the years,/
Oollis~on insurance has been carried on the polio~ cruiser
only.

Property Committee.
Councillor Nesbit reported on proposals for. drapes for the
Council Chamber. Tl:lis matter was left for consideration
when the furnishing of the Council Chamber is considered.

front of the Municipal Building~

Councillor Nesbit also presented a report of the Engineer
on the proposed digester at the Sewage Disposal Plant. It
was agreed to consider this at a· coilimitt·e'e ·meeting to be
held on Monday, January 9th, 1956~
Sports and Publicity Committee~
Councillor Davidson presented a -suggest·ion for a ·.loin.t
Service Club sign at the North ·and.Soilth entrances .to the
town.

A call for tenders for the addition to the Disposal Plant
was considered~

considered. This matter was left until the garbage contractor

The by-law to authorize the execution of an agreement for the
extension of Dunning Avenue was further considered.
