A letter rrom the Ontario Fire Marshall re a training course
for Fire Chiefs to be held at the University of Toronto on
November·l6th-18th was read.
MURRAY: "That this letter be left over until after the report

A letter fron Howard Long & George Keroft requesting removal of
a tree stump and broken ground from the front of a store on Yonge
St. North was read. ·
JONES: "That this be referred to the Streets Committee for
NISBET: investigation".
Carried.
A letter from Mr. F.W~ Browne requesting that the name of Dodie
Street oe changed was read.
NISBET: 11 That Mr. Browne be informed that he should bring
STODDART: in a petition of owners of land on this street to
have this name changed, and advising him that the
residents will be required to bear the cost of
making the chan~e".

A petition from residents of Gurnett Street protesting ~he
proposed erection of a quonset hut was presented.

A letter f:t'om Aurora Youth for Christ thanking Council for the
use of the Town Park was read.

DAVIDSON: Carried.
DELEGAT!ONS
Mr. J. Narrese attended before Council to prese$. plans of an
industrial subdivision on the former Timbers property on
Wellington St. East, and also plans of houses to be erected
on the Aurora Heights Subdivision.
·He also presented deeds of the lands on the Aurora Heights
Subdivision to be deeded to the Town and to be held for the
Scllool Board. ·
NISBET: 11 Tllat Mr. Lee be instructed to draw up an agreement
DAVIDSON: in connection with the servicing of the industrial
sub-division on Wellington St. W, 11

Mr. John A. Mason attended before the Council to request informat-
ion on the building of an apartment house· on Yonge St. N;·
This matter was left for investigation.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.
Reeve·Murray reported on an application for a new water connectillln
on Yonge St. S. The question of installing new services to replace
old connec.tions was considered. ·
MURRAY: 11 That where an application has b.een made for the
DAVIDSON: replacement of an ol4 water service, if in the
opinion of the-Waterworks Superintendant a new
service is necessary, and if the applicatn will
continue the service from the street-line in, then
the charge for such connection shall be half the
charge for a new connection.".

Reeve Murray also reported on a letter from the Fire Department
to the Fire & Water Committee. This matter was referred to the
Committee for consideration.
STREETS Committee.
Dep.Reeve Jones reported on the suggestion to hold a meeting
with Mr. A. L. Cousins and Mr. R. Case. · · ·
PROPERTY COMMITTE~.
Councillor Nisbet presented the following report.
"The Committee respectfullY submit the following:
TheCommittee recommends that the Town purchase a Dustbane Floor
Polisher for approx. $160.00 for use in the Murioipal Building

to be purchasltd out of funds raised by debentures".
NISBET: "That the report of the Property Committee· be approved
STODDART: at an approximate cost of $160.00 and the Seal of the
Corporation be attached hereto".
Carried.
Councillor Nisbet also reported on the proposal to sell sludge from
the Disposal Plant and informed Council that he and the Town Engineer
were visiting the Guelph Sewage plant to investigate this matter.
UNFWNISHED BUSINESS.
The training course for the Fire Chief was further considered.
JONES: "That the sum of $50,00 be paid as expenses for one
BAILEY: man to be appointed by the Fire Chief to attend the
annual training course for munciipal fire chiefs,
and that the delegate be requested to bring back a
report on the Course to the Council".

Dep.Reeve Jones reported on the work on_Edward Street, and on the
condition of the storm sewer on Yonge S • North. +
Councillor Stoddart reported that the prices for the Group
Insurance Scheme were not ·yet in.
Councillor Nisbet raised the question of the location of the
equipment building, It was agreed to hold a meeting to visit
possible sites on Saturday November 12th at 2.p.m.

Councillor Corbett raised the question of furnishings for
the Municipal Building and this matter was discussed.

requested the removal of a tree from the Disposal Plant to
