willingness to take over the operation of the :floodlights from let
January 1956 was read.

DELEGATIONS.
Mr. Vince Casey and Mr. Reid o:f London Life Assurance Co. attended
before Council to present a brief on a proposed group insurance sche~e
:for Town employees.
This was left :for discussion later.
Mr. Don Glass attended before the Council on behalf o:f the Board of
Trade to ask :for Council's assistance in the Christmas Lighting
Programme.
This matter was left :for discussion later.
Mr. Glass also presented a proposal for the Lions Club. He suggested
a joint sign at the entrances to the Town :for the service and other
clubs.
This matter was referred to the Sports and Publicity ~ommittee for
consideration.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.
The Town Engineer presented a report on Tyler St. watermain.
CORBETT: 11 That if Reeve Murray can obtain tentative approval from the

The Engineer also presented a report on the extension of Edward Street
and on the bridge on Yonge St. s.
The extension o:f Edward Street was left for th• Streets Committee to
inspect together with the Engineer and to bring in a report at the .,
next meeting.
JONES: 11 that the Town Engineer be instructed to proceed with the

bridge, repairing the storm sewer discharger and the
protecting of the exposed metal re-inforcing at a cost of
approximately $75.00 and the Seal of the Corporation be attache

Councillor Corbett presented the following report:

The Committee has me to discuss the garbage charge, and to
consider appeals against the levy.
It is recommended that the charges be revised to Conform
with the following:

Mr. R.D. Hodgkinson attended before the Council to ask for
permission for the Aurora Branch, CanadWn Legion, to hold a
Poppy tag day on November XIX 5th and asking Council to
support the Memorial Service on Sunday November 6th.
He also asked that the Council purchase a wreath for placing

on the cenotaph, and pay for the ordem of service for Memprial Day.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
The tenders for Centre Street were considered.
JONES: 11 That these tenders be returned to the Companies
NISBET: as they are, stating that no tender can be accepted
at the present time."

Councillor Davidson raised the question of the sale of sludge
from the Disposal Plant. This matter was discussed and left
for the propxerty Uommittee to investigate.
The Clerk reported that one of the tenders had no return
address on it and could not be returned.
JONES: 11 That the first motion regarding the tenders be
STODDART: rescinded and that they be opened after the meeting
in Committee, "

Councillor Davidson asked that something be now done about
placing other industries on a sewer rental basis,
~his matter was discussed briefly.
The offer of Mr, Lorne Co~ine for the donation of industrial
land to replace the condition in the subdividers agreement for
the equalization of industrial and residential assessment was
considered,

Reeve Murray reported on alleged speeding by buses, and suggested
that the Police Department write the Bus l.iompany on this matter.
Reeve Murray also.informed Council that the Warden 1 s Banquet
w-ould be held on November 4th and asked for information as to
which members would attend.
Reeve Murray also reported that the opening of the Family Court
would be held sometime in the middle of November.
Councillor Nisbet asked whether the shed at the Disposal Plant
could be replaced in view of the changes to be made at the Plant.
No action was taken on this matter.
Mayor Henderson reported that he had extended a welcome to
the Remington Rand students at the new National Training Institute.
