Minutes of a special meeting of the Council held in the
Council Chamber on muesday October 11th 1955 at 9.15.p.m.
PRESENT:
Mayor, Dr. E. J. Henderson. (-in. the .chair)

Uounoillors Child, Corbett, Davidson, Nisbet, & Stoddart.
The extension of Dunning Avenue easterly from Edward Street

was discussed. This matter was then left until Mr. R.Case
and Mr. Lorne Cousins could attend before the Council.
Deputy Reeve Jones reported on the work to be done on& Edward
Street from Cousins Drive to Dunning Avenue.
Mr. R,Case and Mr. L.C.Lee repilesenting Mr. Lorne Cous~ns, then
attended before the Council to.discuss the extension of Edward
Street. This matter was discussed in Uommittee of the whole
with louncillor Child in the chair.
The question of the approval of the York County Health Uhi t
plumbing inspection program was then considered.

Councillor Nisbet reported on the proposed purchase of land for
the extension of the Disposal Plant.
Councillor Nisbet presented a report-of the Town-Engineer on
the Convention of the Candian Institute of Sewage and Sanita'l;ion.

new disposal plant is in operation.
Councillor Nisbet reported on the suggested purchase of a
building to replace the shed at the Disposal Plant.

STODDART: to supply and erect the Quonset Building 40 x 40 x 20

The location of a hydr o pole on Rueben Street was considered
and referred to the Hydro Commission.
Councillor Corbett reported on the remoYal of the monument
. at the Bank of Montreal Corner. ·
Reeve Murray reported that the water main was now being laid
on Tyler Street.
It was agreed to hold a Planning. Committee meeting. on Wednesday
October 12th 19.55 at 9.00 p.m. to discuses the proposed Case
and Cousins subdivisions.
The test drilling programme to find a new source of water was
discussed briefly.
