A. letter from the Loyal mrue Blue and Orange Home requesting
permission for a tag day on Saturday September 17th 1955 was read,
MURRAY: 11 That this request be granted 11 ,
STODDART: . CARRIED.
A letter from Mr. R,J.D, Moddle enclosing an account for damage
to his car ~<~'as read.
This metter was left over for discussion under New Business.
A letter from three residents of Irwin A venue was read. This
letter requested a drainage ditch on the north side of tge street.
MURRAY: 11 That this be left in the hands of the Streets Committee
NISBET: for investigation 11 • ··
CARRIED.
A letter from Mr. Lorne C. Lee notifying Council that he had now
obtained a deed from Mr. Norman Dian for property on Cousins Drive,
and enclosing a statement of disbursements i<l'as read.
STODDART: . 11 That l'Ir: Lee's account be paid.11 •
CHILD: CARRIED.
DELEGATIONS.
Mr. S,J. Rellner attended before Council to ask for information
as to the· requirements of Council on the op.ening up ot the Boyd
Farm subdivision.
This matter was discussed briefly.

Reeve Murray reported on the test drilling programme being carried on.
BAILEY: 11 That International Water Supply Company be allotted a
STODDAR!: sum of money not to exceed $1,000 for the drilling of
one more test hole and that the seal of the Corporation

Councillor Bailey reported on the proposed by-lai<~' to control
rowdyi em &c. He reported that a meeting would be arranged 1>ri th the
Town "'olici;tor to discuss this proposed by-law.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS,
Reeve Murray spoke on the agreement with Collis Leather Company.
MURRAY: 11 That the Collis Leather Compamy be notified at once,
CORBETT: that if they and the Town of Aurora have not come to

an agreement on the cost and maintenance of an addition
to the present town disposal plant by Sept,l4th 1955,
then as of September 15th 1955 the Town of Aurora
shall proceed at once by themselves with the addition,
and the Collis .~.<eather Company shall have to find some
other means of disposing of their industrial wastes,
effective as of October 15th 1955.11
CARRIED.
11 That the Collis Leather Company be requested till pay
50% of the operating and maintenance costs of the
Disposal Plant, as long as they are permitted to use
the present plant. Such costs to be computed from
January 1/55 11 •
CARRIED.
Councillor Davidson reported on the condition of weeds on a property
on Tyler Street, and also on the sidewalk on Geooge Street.
The Streets Committee were instructed to bring in a recommendation
on this sidewalk,
Councillor Davidson asked l•hether the by-law to take eavestrough
drains out of the sanitary ee,,ers was being prepared, and ~•as
informed that the Solicitor had been instructed to prepare this
by-law.
Councillor Davidson asked a question on the work to be done by
Curran & Briggs, and thia matter was discussed briefly, and left
until· the matter had been 1aken up w1. th the Dept. of Highways,
Councillor Davidson spoke on the control of subdivisions, and this
matter l'i'as briefly discussed.
Councillor Corbett reported on the condition of the side1.,alk
bet1ireen Tyler Street and Hillview Road.
Councillor Child asJced a question on the installation of sidewalks
on streets that had not yet had sidewalks laid, and this matter was
discussed briefly,

Councillors Davidson, Corbett, and Nisbet were appointed to
bring in a recommendation on this matter. ·
