11 That Tyler Street be resurfaced from Yonge St. to George Street
and that the price submitted by the Warren Bituminous Paving Co.
be accepted, approx 2600 sq,yds. of 2 11 H.L. 3 resurfacing at $1.22
per sq. yd. approx • • • $3, lli!2.00
Also recommend that a hot mix asphalt shoulder approx 3 ft, wide
average 3 11 thick at $1.70 per sq. yd., $1,417.00 or whatever
shoulder work be deemed necessary by the Committee and our To'm
Engineer 11 •

Reeve Murray reported that the Engineer had investigated the
application for a se<>Ter connection by Mr. McConnell, and the
Engineer's report was studied.

It was reported that the Board of Trade had appointed Mr. T.A.l4.
Hulse as their representative' to the Athletic b"ields Board.

Councillor Bailey asked that the agreement w·i th the Garbage
Contractor be revised to change the method of payment, and the
appeals against the garbage i:Jgarge 1rrere also discussed.
The Chairman of the By-Law Uommittee agreed to bring in a by-law

to revise the contract, and the Chairman of the Health and Sanitat-
ion Committee agreed to hold a meeting to consider the appeals.
NEW. BUSINESS.
Mr. 1-lalter Nesbitt brought in a petition asking for a reduction
of traffic speed in the nei.ghbo.urhood of the Machell Street
playground.

added that all existing downpipes from eavestroughing
running into the Sanitary .sewer be taken out,
and that it be .forbidden for new buildings to;connect
downpipes from eavestroughing into sanitary sewersn.

Deputy Reeve Jones reported on a request for a stop sign at
Temperance and Reuben Streets, It 1-ras also reported that a .stop
sign was needed at the corner of Edward Street and Cousins Drive,

Councillor Nisbet asked if anything had been done on the Traffic
By-law revision and was informed that this was in the hands of the
Solicitor and theClerk.
Councillor Davidson reported on weeds on a property on Tyler Street
and the Clerk was instructed to have these dealt with,

11 That the A urora Building Company be instructed to
proceed w·i th the repairs and renovations to the
Old Public School Building on Uhurch Street for use
of Remington Rancl Co., at an approx cost of $30,000,00
and the Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto".
CARRIED.
Councillor Corbett asked what was being done with the extension
and alteration of the Municipal Building and the Mayor stated that
this was being continued with.
Councillor ~avidson suggested the withholding of approval of
further subdivisions until "mter 1"as obtained.
