The Clerk reported that this matter had been referred
to the Tow·n 1 s insurers.

A letter from Aurora Public School re drainage of Wells
Street in front of the Public School property, was read.
NISBET: 11 That this matter be referred to the Streets

A letter from Aurora Recreation Commission requesting a
licence for sound truck advertising was read,

A letter from Ontario Municipal Association requesting
r~solutions and matters to be placed before the .Associatiorls
Convention.

DELEGATIONS
Mr.John Rundle and Mr. McCarthy attended before Council to
discuss payments for the sewer along Harriman Road.
This matter was discussed at length and was then deferred
for consideration later in the meeting.

Reeve Murray reported on the test drilling for >,rater and
recommended that Council as a whole be now· responsible for
this work. He also asked for guidance on the laying of the
water main on !Viaple Street and on an application for a
sewer connection.by Mr. Allison Hc"onnell.
Reeve Murray also.:reported that Wellington Street '"as to

be resurfaced by the Toronto & York Hoads vommission, and
also recommended that the Co~~ission be asked to paint the
white line on Yonge Street through the town.
The Reeve also reported on the last meeting of the Athletic
~ i elds Board.
It was agreed to have Mr. Kirk of International Water
Supply attend a meeting of a Committee of the Council
to discuss the test. drilling.
JONES: 11 That a meeting be called as soon as the Chairman

The laying of the 1<Vater main on Maple Street was discuss-ed.
BAILEY: 11 That the main be layed by the watervrorks men

Hr. McConnell's application for a sewer connection w·as
discussed. ·

The painting of the white line on Yonge Stree§ was discussed.
STODDART: 11 That we accept the offer of the County to paint a

Dunning Avenue at an approximate cost of $120.00

Councillor Nisbet reporteP. on a su13gestion to have a man on
call at all times for duty at the isposal Plant, and
recommended the purchasing of certain furniture for the
Engineers Office.
NISBET: 11 That the Town supply the follo•ring equipment for the

1 Desk, 2 chairs, .. 1 filing cabinet, extension to
the phone. Approximate cost $200.00 and that the
Seal of the Corporation be attached hereto 11 •

and Mr. Foote decide which man should undertake this
job, and if Mr. Goulding needs another man that one
be obtained u.

DELEGATIONS.
Mr. Frank Miller attended before the Council ~o request that
a subdivision agreement between himself and the Toom be entered
into.
This matter was discussed.
Mr. John Rundle and Mr. McCarthy then returned and suggested
that the sum of $132.80 be paid to the Town by the builder
for each house to be built on Harriman Road at the time of
the sale, and that if this money was not then paid, he agreed
to give his consent to a by-law imp~sing a sewer rental of
l~l2.80 per lot per year for 15 years as a contributi·on to•·mrds
the cost of the se1"er through the property.
This suggestion was agreed upon by ihe Council.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Reeve Nurray presented the following wri tt!m motion of the
Athletic Fllids Board:
11 That it is recommended by the Athletic ··ields Board that the
operation of the floodlights be turned over to the Recreation
Uommission for a rental of $1.00 per year, and that a separate
account be set up in their records to record the operation of the
floodlights. It is further recommended that any surplus be used
towards the improvement of the mlbl diamond 11 •

Reeve Hurray asked if anyrtlltling had been done about the Town's
insurance and W£l.S informed that this was to be brought up at a
meeting of the Finance Committee .
Reeve Murray asked that the agreement for the renting of premises
to the County of York be no1v rompleted. This matter and the
addition to the Municipal Building was discussed.
BAILEY: 11 That none of the tenders for the additions to and

Councillor Stoddart asked for a meeting of the Finance Committee
to discuss insurance and this w·as arranged for July 20th at 8.!}0 p.I
Reeve Murray aoked why the Audit Report had not been read .in
Council.
Councillor Davidson asked when the by-law·s· increasing the
charges for •.rater and sew·er connections and removing eavestrough
water from the sanitary sewers were to be brought in.
The Fire and Water Uommittee was instructed to bring in
recommendations on these.

Councillor!!~~ asked when the work on Yonge Street to be done
by th~ Contractors would be done.
Councillor Child asked if any action had taken place on the
proposed Case subdivision, and was informed that no further
developments had occurred.
Deputy Reeve Jones asked \vhere the agreement with Collis Leather.
Company now stood, and was informed that it was in the hands of
the lawyers.

The appointment of a member to the Traffic Safety Councilsponsored
by the Jaycees was considered.

Two tenders for the resurfacing of part of Tyler Street were
opened and discussed.
The che.irman of the Streets UommJittee was instructed to take
this matter up with his committee and the ~ngineer and to bring
in a report at the next meeting •
. Councillor eorbett reported on a request for the use of the
1'own Park on August 20th by the Institute for the Deaf.

The Clerk reported on a request by the Lions Ulub for their
carnival to be held on Monde.y July 25th instead of Wednesday
July 2?th as previously arranged. The Clerk reported that
the Dept. of High1~ays had approv.ed the change.
