Reeve Nurray reported on the use of lawn and garden hoses outside
the hours allowed by by-law

Councillor Nisbet presented the following report:

That asHarryquibb has been engaged by the Police Commission
to relieve during the holidays, the Clrporation engage Clarence
Browning to act as caretaker during this period at a salary· of
$1.09 per hour.
re: Disposal Plant

The consulting engineer has recownended that we instal immediately
the chlorinator that \>Jill be required in the addition to the
disposal-plant as this should do much toward improving tl\le situation
at the Disposal Plant. Upon enquiry we received from the Collis
Leather Company an offer to loan a Chlorinator to the To;,m for the .
present, The committee recommends that this generous offer be accepted
and the equipment be transferred to the Disposal Plant and setup~ once~
NISBET: 11 That thereport of the Property Committee be accepted and
BAILEY: that the seal of the Corporation be attached hereto".

Councillor Davidson asked if anything had been done with the sidewalk
at the corner of George and Wellington Streets. He also asked if
anything had been done to bring in the by-law to provide for the··
removal of eavestrough drains from the sani ta1•y sewer,
Councillor Child reported that the Arena Board had approved th~
final payment of $1.,000 to Garla Floor Co. for the Arena floor.

Dep,Reeve Jo.nes asked that a meeting of the Streets Committee be
held to deal with certain outstanding streets matters.
